About the Author

Casey Daniels once applied for a job as a tour guide in a cemetery. She didn’t get the job, but she did get the idea for the Pepper Martin Mysteries. Casey learned to love mysteries early, thanks to her father, a Cleveland police detective who enjoyed Sherlock Holmes stories and spent his days off searching for stolen cars, with Casey along for the ride. Later, she read her way through every mystery on the library shelves. Casey has a degree in English and a background in journalism and teaching. She lives in northeast Ohio.

Since two other reviewers have summarized this book wonderfully, I won't. This newest addition to the Pepper Martin series is not only a great mystery, but information has also been added that answer questions from previous books about Pepper and Quinn. I have enjoyed each book's the historical information, the growing use of Pepper' unusual gift, the adventure that gift generates, and her romantic ups and downs. I like that Pepper's romance issues are more realistic than most cozies(,but I still read the others, regardless of the swiftness of some cozy heroines' romances). The romantic conclusion at which the author hinted will not influence the popularity of this series. It will enhance it!!! The addition of her parents and her ghostly office staff will also make future books even more fun! Thank you,Casey, for a most enjoyable read, and I will eagerly await the next in the series.

The fun, fashionable, and very likeable Pepper Martin is back in her 9th outing as PI to the Dead. Supernatural Born Killers (great title!!) is a terrific addition to this entertaining series. Pepper is such a great character. She has definitely matured over the course of this series and is now embracing her `gift'.

In this story, Pepper is: investigating the murder of Quinn's former partner, trying to get a handle on the extra work that comes with her new position at the cemetery (using a few of Garden View's `residents' as office workers was very amusing), and doing what she can to fend off the advances of an eccentric philanthropist with a Superman fixation without offending him. In the middle of all this, Pepper's parents show up unexpectedly with a few surprises. And then there is Quinn--well, what can I say, I have always been a Quinn fan, and I was really happy at the end of this book! There are a few different mysteries in this book (theft of memorabilia, a policeman's murder, the death of a young man), and at first glance, they don't seem to be related, but Ms. Daniels does a great job connecting them.
If you haven't tried any of the Pepper Martin books, please do so. These books are fun reads filled with mystery and suspense, humor, twists and turns, and a little bit of romance. These are a `must buy' for me, and I eagerly await the next book.

On a side note: In each book, Ms. Daniels takes some bit of history she has researched and writes a story around it--and I just love that! Two young men from Cleveland created the character of Superman. After finishing this book, I found myself Googling these two men and reading about their lives. Quite interesting!

I have never been quiet about how much I love this series. In fact I almost never read 'cozy' mysteries anymore and the truth of the matter is that Casey Daniel's "Pepper Martin" books truly are so much more than most cozy mysteries. It probably shouldn't even be considered on of that genre. Pepper is one of my favorite heroines. She is spunky, witty, and sarcastic. She also is tenderhearted and will do about anything for anyone, especially if you are one of those pesky ghosts she can see and communicate with.

"Supernatural Born Killers" finds Pepper starting in her new position at Cleveland's Garden View Cemetery. No longer is she guiding tours, now she is in charge of writing the newsletter, working on the cemetery's budget and helping to secure big donations to keep the cemetery flush. Pepper's relationship with Quinn is still a little rocky as well. He had his own recent supernatural experience but he still is stubborn in his anti-paranormal beliefs. He is a cop and he truly wants everything to be logical and fit together like puzzle pieces.

Then his ex-partner goes missing and Pepper knows he isn't alive. How? Cause she is seeing his dripping wet ghost! She and Quinn work together to try to find out what exactly happened to Jack and what all of this has to do with a big comic book convention that is coming to town.

I love that the Pepper Martin stories change. Life happens. There are job promotions, lifestyle changes, weddings, deaths. Crazy parents who show up wanting to suddenly move to town and join in their daughter's ghostly investigations. You know; all the real life stuff. Pepper is completely adorable and fun no matter what is happening.

Pepper Martin is a cemetery tour guide and reluctant medium that is thrilled to have her job back with a promotion. She acquires a staff to help with her everyday job tasks so she has more time to spend with Quinn and solve the crime.

this book in the series starts out with Pepper getting married and goes downhill from there. If you already are a fan of pepper's you won't want to miss this one. If you arent yet a fan - you will love it anyway. All her books are stand alone with a different adventure in each.

I really enjoyed reading this one and didnt want to put it down.
