4.0 out of 5 stars A must for Luxa-Pan fans., December 21, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Supernaut (Audio CD)
This CD really kind of sums up the music of Al Jourgensen in a small nutshell. The first song implies of his musical influences, being mostly Black Sabbath in nature and shows just how hard-driven his music is likely to sound. The second is the more droning, drum and bass industrial barn burner. The last two songs give you a taste of his early days of Ministry with the synth-pop sound and the only slightly distorted vocals. By the way, if you were hoping to hear Supernaut as sung by Trent Reznor, get the Nativity in Black compilation, because the version on this CD is sung by Al himself. It is hard to tell the difference, but it is there. Personally, I own more than just a few Luxa-Pan productions CD's, and this is by far my favorite. Yes, it is short, but it is well worth the time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice "alternative" to Ministry..., November 22, 2001
This review is from: Supernaut (Audio CD)
What we have here is basically all Ministry songs.
Supernaut is the opening track, and what better way to open this ep. With a strong rock feel and a catchy riff, no wonder they chose this for the name of the ep.
Hey A$$hole is probably the only bad song on this cd, if you ask me. Musically, it's not great, and it's lyrically it's just a cop cursing alot. If you hate cops though, you'll probably like this song.
Apathy, perhaps my favorite on this cd, is one of the two outtakes from the Land of Rape and Honey album. This song, like Supernaut, has a nice feel to it, with well written lyrics and, without a doubt, one guitar riff which you won't be able to get out of your head. In this case, it's a good thing. This political song will surely stand out on the first listen.
Better Ways, the last song on this short but great ep, is also a outtake from the Land...and all in all, this is a very futuristic sounding song. This has a strong synth sound to it, as opposed to the guitar heavy tracks before this. With that said, this song is unique(all are in their own way), and perhaps the most unique one on the ep. Also a great song.
Check this out if you like Ministry, because basically, this IS Ministry, just under a different name. All in all, this is great, highly recommended, even if you don't like Ministry.

Great industrial ep for the Wax Trax fan out there...find the Black Box for the Trent Reznor version of Supernaut!
