As much as I like Liz Phair, I could not recomend shelling out the bucks for this disc unless you just have to get anything she's ever released. The title song is great, but if you're a fan, you already have it. The edited version deletes the song's only expletive, so you're not really missing anything. "combo-platter" is a fairly lack-luster song from the rather lo-fi girly-sound tapes that really doesn't do the girl justice anyway. If you're buying it just for "combo-platter", do yourself a favor and try to track down a bootleg copy of girly-sound.

"And now you're sleeping with that girl that you used to say that you have always hated..don't be so in love with yourself 'cause I'm not."

With jewels like this, the cd is worth every penny. Supernova was never a flame-throwing favorite of mine, but it never has let me down yet. The classic sound with a switched up layout of Combo Platter more than makes up for any other fault one could find with the album.

Supernova by Liz Phair was the coolest pop/rock song of 1994. This song can be found on my favorite Phair album, Whip-Smart. Supernova is everything an indie rock song should be, great melody, killer lyics, and mindblowing guitar riff. The bonus song, Combo Platter is awesome as well, so honest and refreshing. This cd single may be hard to find but it's definitely worth searching for, enjoy!
