Stupid Fresh,
By A Customer
This review is from: Supersonic The Album (CD-R)
This is the dopest, slammin'est, freshest CD ever made!! Every time I hear "Supasonic" I get charged up like a strait up OG!! Does anyone know where Baby D and Sassy C are today because I want to meet them and thank them personally for changing my life with this CD. I remember having "Time Tah Get Stupid" played at my wedding. My dad wanted "Let's Get Hyped" played at his funeral. He got his wish in 1991. I'm 48 years old and can remember my funky fresh days with JJ Fad kickin it wit my posse back in my crib. Buy this CD today. You won't be disappointed.

I can remember listening to this "LP" over my grandmothers house. Long, long ago. I don't have this on CD, but it will be in my collection soon. I do have this on tape, and it gets a spin every now and then. But it is hot as fire. I guess you can wonder why, they were on Ruthless Records under the production of Eazy-E.

Way Out,

I think this is one of the first rap cassettes I bought. It is great and I swear I still know all the words to every song. My friends & I looked in vain for the sweatshirts they wear on the cover so that we could be JJ Fad! I highly recommend this album.

If you're reading this review, you're in for such a treat. YOU SHOULD BUY THIS ALBUM RIGHT NOW! Why? Because it's old school rap at it's best! Ever song is just delectable and will stay in your head for days. I'm 19 and I have been listening to this album for over 10 years. I cannot go wrong with this. I remember when this album came out, I listened to it all the time. I even remember the videos they had: Supersonic and Is It Love. When my cassette tape got ate up by my radio player I rebought the album in CD format. I mean, this album is just incredibily fun and great to listen to when you want to have some fun for a night. No wonder this album went platinum back in 1988. This was some good ish. Just buy it!!!

Fun, old school rap,

My brother and I had the tape way back when and listened to it so much that we wore the tape out! I just had to get the CD. Everyone always talks about "Supersonic" which is an awesome song, but "Now Really" is probably my favorite song on the album. "Now Really" has some of the funniest, most quotable diss lyrics ever and it alone makes this album worth the purchase! Although there are times when the album has some repetitiveness (and, dare I say it, lameness), I think the album overall has fun, catchy beats and lyrics that make it worth adding to any old school rap collection. And...I am glad someone else noticed Fergie's resampling of "Supersonic" on "Fergalicious".

A Deffinate "Must Have" for 80s Music Lovers,
By
This review is from: Supersonic The Album (CD-R)
When I heard SUPERSONIC for the first time, I was impressed. So much that I went on a hunt to find the LP. I purchased the CD and LP and love them both. The song "WAY OUT" is another favorite of mine. I grew up listening to 80s hip-hop and JJ FAD was right there with SALT N PEPA, LL COOL J and UTFO. They had some nice stuff. I also bought there follow-up "Not Just a Fad" sadly, that album flopped. I hear these days, one of the girls is in the fast food business. Wow, how things change. Anyhow, great album and wont give it up for nothing.

Now Really!,

What? Calling this album "tacky" is like calling country music "twangy". Remember, this album is from the 80s and it's one of the first all-female rap groups. Rap has evolved into hip-hop and is much more produced these days. Back in the day, rap was about harmless competition between MCs not bling-bling and Bentleys. LL Cool J's first album is a diss album too. This album is poppy and fun and will remind you of the good old days: dance-offs, amusement parks, skateboarding, rollerskating, school dances, etc. If you grew up doing the "cabbage patch" and the "running man" this album is for you. (PS I still know all the words to "Now Really".)

Whatever happened to these talented young women under the alias JJ FAD? I don't know, but wherever they are, I hope they know they are not forgotten. The only song I ever heard from them was the ol' skool hip hop classic "Supersonic." I just want JJ FAD to know that they are definatelly "Not Just A Fad."
