1.0 out of 5 stars Superchronic Maaaaan!, July 8, 2001

Bad film collectors - begin collecting now! I saw this at the cinema back in about '78 or '79 and the projector broke down half way through the film. Even machines have taste!

This is a colossal rip off of Superman and Star Wars. The good points first - a few of the effects and sets are pretty good. Now the bad points - most of the effects and sets are so bad they're funny. Just imagine any sort of bad special effect and it's in this film. The acting is bad but the film is also dubbed so that doesn't help either. It also doesn't help the dialogue, but this is beyond help anyway and WILL have you laughing. And the theme music is hilarious. The composer has gone for big, heroic music just like the Star Wars and Superman themes. Bad film collectors must have this film. It is the ultimate in 'so bad it's funny' movies.

The funniest bit for me is close to the end when bad guy Cameron Mitchells spaceship gets blown up. The same explosion is shown about 5 times over and over again. The trouble is the music also repeats itself with the scene! Pure class. Sarcasm was invented for this type of thing.
