Superstructs is really Tinkertoys in disguise. My son got a Tinkertoys set for his birthday and these are interchangeable and the exact same. These are PLASTIC pieces.... NOT wooden. (I believe Tinkertoys still sells the wooden version though.) My boys LOVE playing with these! My son got up at 5:30 am because he was too excited to sleep and wanted to get more play time in. <sigh> The toy is a HUGE hit for anyone that has kids that like to create and build. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could... with the exception that your kids may want to get up a bit earlier to get in more play-time... ;) A must-have for the builder in your family.

I asm not sure of the durability, etc of this set yet as it was a Christmas gift to one of my grandsons. He was actually asleep when the gifts were opened so only opened it right before leaving to go home. He really likes playing with the smaller original wooden ones that were his Dad's when at my house. I'm sure he will like these larger ones that will be his own.

I bought this for my son who is almost five a couple of months ago. He plays with it all of the time, each time inventing something new. My three year old daughter also enjoys making her own creations. Great toy - very durable and easy for the kids to put together with only minimal assistance.
