I bought this toy for my four year old son who absolutely loves it. He is constantly bringing it out and asking me to help him build different models, or sometimes will make his own, or even ask his 5 year old brother to help him and they will play with it together. It's a great toy for building fine motor skills and it encourages creativity - 2 very important skills to develop in early childhood. I highly recommend this one - it's both fun and educational!!

I have a 4 year old grandson who is really into building things. I purchased the Superstructs Starter Set for Christmas and it is one of his favorite new toys. The pieces are sized large enough for little hands and the bendable foam shapes included are great.

I bought these for my 4 year old daughter, she loves following the directions to build the cars. My 2 year old son likes them too.

My 3 and 6 year old sons absolutely love this set. They like it better than the original Tinkertoys. They have invented so many things beyond the cars they show in the canister. They want more of these but of course this mom isn't made of money. As soon as I can, though, we'll definitely be adding to the set. I just love toys the kids can be creative with and really enjoy. It's good to see their minds at play as much as their hands.

I bought this for my son on his third birthday. It is a really neat toy. However, it is too difficult for him to put the pieces together by himself. The construction takes so much force that an adult needs to put the pieces together. Not what I had in mind!

My son loves to build, so I wish I had just expanded on his wooden Junior TinkerToy Building Set (66 pcs) collection instead. He loves making his own constructions with those!

We received this as a gift and had great hopes, but it requires so much force to put the pieces together that neither of my boys (5 and 6) can put together the vehicles alone. One benefit is that they don't fall apart when you drive them down the slide or stairs or off of ramps. My boys tend to use the wheels alone and have developed a bowling-type game with the pieces.

I am sure this is a great product but I purposely bought it from amazon because of the canister because I hate having toys around the kids' room and no storage for them. It did not come in a canister. It came in a regular box. (My daughter's fairy set which I bought from a different site did come in the canister and it's great.) Some people may not care but I thought I would post this so that you know.

My son just received this set as an early birthday gift. It was an immediate hit. I gave four stars because some of the pieces are a little tough to get together, but what really impressed me is that the directions for each of the models are drawn in such a way that very young children can totally understand them. My son was able to look at each step, determine which pieces he needed and get started assembling, even though he needed a little help. Looks like he has a great future putting together Ikea furniture!

My son has had this for about two years now, and he still pulls it out often to use his imagination and build his own creations. He is six and still needs a little help when building one of the models from the instructions, but when they are done they look great/impressive, and they can be played with not just for looking at! The wheels turn and work great! We will probably be ordering more soon!

Santa got this for our 4 yr old but mom or dad are the only ones that can really build with it. It is way to hard for a kid to put together. I had a broken nail and bruised palm from trying to get one vehicle made. He likes to play with it after I am done but the reason we got it was so he could build with it. Bummer. Next time I'll stick with the tried and true Tinker Toys.
