So I received the fan today and have been playing with it for a few hours now. Firstly it is noisy, a good comparison would be your average shop-vac, sounds almost identical both volume and tone although the fans tone is a bit lower. It moves a LOT of air for its size, I do plan on reviewing one from Harbor Freight as well so we'll see which one is the better buy. I will update this review after using it in the shop while I weld and after I use it to dry spills/mopped floors. Keep in mind this thing is single speed and not to suited to home use unless its used in a garage or to clear out smoke from cooking or something, which it works extremely well for (after all that is its intended purpose). I love the fact it is made in the U.S.A., and is extremely well built, but I still cannot say I would pay the full $4xx price for it. $200, yes, $250 if I really needed one, but almost $500? Unless you're a firefighter, I would buy something else. The fan I received is blue just like the one pictured at my time of purchase, the fan is amazingly well balanced also, no vibration at all really.

As far as airflow is concerned, it moves air. A LOT of air for its size, and by any fans standard. It also produces a LOT of suction at the intake, perfect for my primary intended purpose (sucking flux cored welding smoke away). Because of the high suction be sure to clean any sand or lightweight items at the intake or else prepare to be sand blasted!

I managed to somehow score this fan for $143 dollars on here, if I where you I would wait for a lower price to come up before purchase. $250 would be about right.
I will be making some videos of it on YouTube to show the tone and volume of the noise it makes. Won't be so bad in a shop setting however or in an emergency situation.
