I am currently reading this book for a my "Supervision" class through Dallas Community College. It's a nice short book, and is easy to read. The author speaks clearly and in terms that you can understand.

I purchased this book for a Management Class and really enjoy reading it. The chapters are short and easy. There is very little difference between this book and the newer edition. This book was bought used with very little highlight for under $20 and brand new text is over $100. The process at Amazon was simple and I received my book quicker than the college bookstore. Now, I am midway into my quarter and I have "A" in my class.

Although the book isn't the greatest ( I would never buy it for enjoyable reading), the cost of this textbook for my class is excellent. I paid ALOT less than what the bookstore at school charges and it was in perfect condition. I got a brand new book for a cheaper cost than what the bookstore was selling their used books at---very happy about that!

I am pleased with my product but I was sent the wrong edition. This has caused somewhat of a problem. I ordered the 8th edition, but did not realize until after I started class I was sent the 9th edition. Big difference in chapters.

Teaching supervision should not be done by text. It's a soft skill adaptation of some useful rules of thumb and some good human resources direction.

The text is basic, the examples are weak, and the short reviews of the laws will be dated in a short period of time. Try a short course by AMA that is reinforced with company training and guidance for the area that you work.

Well written and easy to read. Like most textbooks, it has little to do with reality, and is long on theory.
