I bought this winch to replace a Warn winch that was damaged in an ATV rollover. This Superwinch was less expensive and it's as good, or better than the Warn. I installed it myself on my Bombardier Outlander Max 800. It probably took me 6 hours to install, but it was the first time I ever did any work on the Bombardier myself, so much of that time was just figuring out how to remove bolts, bumpers, running wires, etc. I did buy a mounting kit, which is absolutely essential to mounting this winch on the Bombardier. I'm hoping it'll get its real first serious workout in 3 weeks when I take it elk hunting. I highly recommend this product.

I purchased this winch to go on my 2011 Rancher 420. I must say that so the wiring installation was straight forward. I also purchased the Superwinch mounting plate to match. This winch is a little large "framed" to fit on the fourwheeler. I did make it fit but it was a tight one. Rubber hammer was a necessity. Overall I believe it was a good value and definately a step up in quality from the cheap ebay winches.

Very good winch! Ours is mounted to a Polaris RZR S. I used the three piece mount kit that you can find for around 50.00. Works very well and has proved itself a few times. You can tell its a high quality unit as soon as you open the box. I have off-roaded since I was a small kid and I have always heard the name superwinch compared to warn and it definatly compares. I would reccommend to anyone.

The first thing you do to install winch is attach it to mounting bracket. I screwed the bolts in finger tight. And then used 1/2" drive ratchet to tighten bolts. All of them stripped before they got tigthened up to spec. I removed the bolts. Threads were all stripped, one even had nut threads come out with bolt. The bolts and nut Superwinch use are not hardened enough for application. I but it back in box and returnd to Amazon.com, requested a refund. Ordered a Warn XT25 winch, they cost more than other brands. But everything from them is high quality. Superwinch customer service is bad also. I contacted them before installing winch regarding use of circuit breaker they include. No other mfg. requires a breaker to be installed. They never responded to my question. Buy a WARN and you will not be dissapointed.

this winch is powerful and quiet it is comperable to warn for lots less money dont be afraid it is a quality product

I bought this mainly for plowing. This has great power and is fast. It will easily lift a full 4' blade of snow,even the wet and heavy stuff. I am able to pile it about 5' high. Definatly worth the money. Amazon is a great place to get what you need.

Got this for almost 50% off retail on Amazon. Full of features the other brands offer, but these are made here in the USA. As a resident of Connecticut its nice to support businesses in the state, and for less then the other brands too. Plenty of pulling power, lifetime warranty and solid build. Would of liked a choice of different options instead of a remote, like a snatch block or cover.

I purchased this winch for a 420 Rancher 4x4, they claim it fits. It fit without a millimeter to spare. It is also an under mount cable which I do not recommend for the 420 Rancher. Also the solenoid that came with it was bad, so I had to deal with that. I read another review about this winch that had the same solenoid problem. I'm not sure if it is a more widespread problem or not. The bolts that came with it were really too short to mount to the bracket required for the 420 Rancher and they did not appear to be a very good quality steel. One of the nuts stripped out. Ended up replacing the nuts and bolts with longer higher quality bolts and nuts. For the money I guess it was fine, but probably would pick a different winch for the 420 Rancher.

Wish I could have used this winch. The workmanship of the Superwinch looked to be top notch. I can not go any farther than that in my review since I was unable to install the winch when mounted to the Superwinch mount plate. I gave this winch 3-stars since the electrical studs sits on the outer edge of the motor housing at 180-degree apart from each other. That would not be a problem for most installations but Superwinch's mount plate (#2202855) was designed so the winch would be mounted to the back of the mount plate and not the base of the mount plate. This caused the electrical studs to sit on a vertical plane instead of horizontal plane and caused the electrical studs to make contact with the crash bars, unless you used the left most mounting hole positions to mounted the winch.

Using any other mounting hole, other than the center mounting hole positions, created another problem. One of the bolts anchoring the winch to the mounting plate would hit the ATV frame preventing you from aligning and bolting the crash bar and mount plate to the ATV frame. I guess this would be a Catch-22 situation.

According to the Superwinch web site, this mount plate kit is suppose to work with this winch when mounting to a 2007 Grizzly 450 4x4.

Cheers to Amazon!! Amazon did provide me with a full refund for the winch. I did not try to return the mount plate since it show wear from where I was trying to persuade it to fit the ATV.

I purchased the winch primarily for operating my snow plow. Installation was pretty straight forward once you figure out the 1 way that it would snake into my frame mounts (2003 Yamaha Kodiak 400YFM). I decided on mounting the electronics in the under-seat box and all of the cables are more than long enough to make that happen with ease. The winch does come with a mounting plate but I opted for the KFI plate as it had a much better mounting position for the roller fare-lead.
