Entry Level 4x4 Winching Power The Superwinch 1585202 LP8500 series winch is designed to accommodate the needs of entry level 4x4 and utility customers who need power. The second generation of the LP8500 product line, the 1585202 LP8500 winch is designed to fit most any 4x4 vehicle, as well as trailers, RVs and other similarly sized vehicles. Its ease of use also makes it an excellent utility winch. Along with a hefty 8,500-LB line pull rating via 94-feet of 5/16" steel wire rope and a 4.5 hp sealed series wound motor powered by an easy to establish permanent connection to your vehicle battery, the LP8500 features the power and reliability of a heavy-duty all-metal 3-stage planetary gear train. Additional features include, a lever action freespooling clutch allowing users to quickly disengage the motor and manually draw out as much winch rope as needed, at any time, a hawse fairlead (mounting plate sold separately), a heavy-duty latched hook with thimble and a two-year limited warranty. I was shocked to learn that I could buy this powerful of a winch for so little money. It works great, comes complete with the mounting bolts, etc. I wished it had a roller fairlead, but for the price, you cannot complain. Superwinch needs to package these better, because the styrofoam it comes in, can sometimes be damaged. This winch is HEAVY! Mine came in with a bolt on the gear casing bent, from the carrier dropping it, but it works fine and I have no complaints. A great winch for the money!

install was very easy. Instructions for hooking up the power were simple and all needed items were supplied.

There was plenty of cable length that even though my battery was somewhat out f the way, I was able to connect it no problem.

Have used this winch only once so far to remove a tree from a friends dock , what a mess, it was a giant cucumber magnolia tree, smashed his pontoon boat , had winch on the front mounted to my f 150 4x4 pulled that bad boy tree right off the dock and up the bank ,no worry s at all , my truck was shure squatting under the load ,couldnt have done it without the winch as there was no manoeuvring room to pull it otherwise.So far so good ,should have got one a long time ago !That tree will be heating my home for a couple years to come ,Thanks Super winch for a good product !
