The present volume contains detailed descriptions of several well known classes of compounds, such as the tetrafluoroaurates and the dicyanoaurates of various metals such as the alkaline earth metals, zinc, cadmium, mercury, thallium, lead, and the rare earth elements. Gold and rare earth elements also form disilicides with the composition MAu2Si2 . The electrical and magnetic properties of these disilicides are of special interest.
