About the Author
Willis Schalliol, whose French Huguenot ancestors emigrated to Germany in 1685, has been interested in his family's history since 1947. He was born (1919) in Elkhart, IN and holds the BS and PhD in engineering from Purdue and Stanford Universities respectively. He served in WW-II as an artillery Liaison Pilot both in combat in Germany and in the Army of Occupation in Japan. After 19 years of industrial research, he returned to Purdue in 1969 as a member of the professional and teaching staff from which he retired in 1987.
