A strong debut from former FATA frontman,
By Krazy Kornbau (York, PA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Supply and Depend (Audio CD)
After falling in love with FATA's last album, Holding a Wolf By the Ears, and listening to it nonstop for about a month, I was expecting alittle more from Fran Mark. He was the backbone of the hardcore punk band From Autumn to Ashes, and his talent was definitely proven in his last effort with FATA. But could he match that or even exceed in this new project? After a few listens back to back, I'm not yet sure. I was expecting more ripping guitar hooks and melody that was shown in Holding a Wolf, but I don't really notice too much of that in this band. It is definitely Fran Mark's heaviest release to date, and there is still alot of back and forth screaming and melodic singing. It's hard not to compare this album to From Autumn to Ashes, but it really does still sound like them. This album reminds me alot of Abandon Your Friends and seems like this album could easily follow right after that album instead of the aforementioned amazing final album that did follow. Anyway, if you liked From Autumn to Ashes, particularly the albums Abandon Your Friends or Holding A Wolf By the Ears, then you should definitely pick up this band's debut album.

Is it unfair to compare?,

When I got this album, I loved it but I kept thinking "this is not as good as FATA." When I really think about it, that is an unfair comparison. Francis Mark isn't trying to create a side project that is exactly like FATA. This is a little different. It doesn't have as many catchy guitar riffs and probably has more screaming than any FATA album. But once I get past trying to compare this band to FATA, I have to say that this album rocks.

AWESOME,
This review is from: Supply and Depend (Audio CD)
This album is great. This is a good buy for all From Autumn To Ashes fans, or people who like metalcore, or just heavy music. This was shipped right on time. I say this is a great buy. The music is awesome. I got hooked on this band the first time I listened to this album.
