The Power Support Docking Stand does exactly what I wanted:- lets my MacBook Pro have a very small footprint on my small desk, allowing room for a separate monitor in front of it. - allows more air to circulate over both sides of the laptop case, which keeps it from getting as hot as it was when sitting flat on a surface.

This does a good job of holding your Mac Laptop vertically. It is made of aluminum and riveted together. It is very functional but really over priced.

Perfect for those of us who like to plug in our laptops when we get home and use them like big-people computers. This is a dead simple product to use. Applying the felted stickers is so easy I'm surprised it wasn't done in factory, but it takes literally 2 minutes of your day and you can adjust them as needed. If you have a macbook you probably won't even have to adjust the base to fit, mine slotted in and was snug on the first try. I'm docking this product a star because it's pretty overpriced for what it offers, but all in all this is a handy little stand to free up some desk space and help dissipate heat from your laptop.

Should you wish to position your MacBook vertically, this product is your best bet (and also the only one, unless you are willing to shell out several hundred quid for the Balmuda Floater). The Power Support Docking Stand basically consists of two flanges connected by a strip in the middle, all of it precision-milled from brushed aluminium. The spacing of the two bookend-like flanges is adjustable, and there are velours strips on the bottom and sides as well as little velours feet on the bottom so this will scratch neither your desk nor your laptop. It's a sturdy thing and it will fit all current and recent MacBook and MacBook Pro models except the MacBook Air. The drawbacks? It's still expensive for what it does; and the flat grey plastic profiles that cap the ends make it look cheaper than it should.

I use my laptop as my regular computer at the office with a separate monitor and keyboard. This stand keeps it safe and upright on the floor next to me and is absolutely FABULOUS!!!! I just pop it in, book up my cords, and it's safe and sound for the day. This stand is reasonably priced, extremely sturdy, and stable. I have recommended it to all my friends and they love it too!

If you, like myself tend to shut the laptop down (as opposite to sleep) before "docking" it to make sure device connection works smoothly, you will find that you can't get to the laptop's power button once it is in the stand. Pulling it out, pressing the button while balancing it semi-open with all the cords dangling is less than optimal. Also, the marketing picture shows the laptop in the stand with no cords. No kidding, it is much uglier with cords going from both sides (Video, LAN, USB, FireWire from one side, power, USB, speakers, microphone from another on mine). Although it is the design issue with laptop, not stand, the cords are much more visible from the side side view in the vertical stand.
