2.0 out of 5 stars nothing new in it that isn't in any job book
I thot this would have info about full-time RVers.
RVers don't stay in one place for long, and finding a job in such a circumstance is different than being in a stick-built house.

Not a single idea about self-employment ideas for RVers.

Things I thot it would have are pet sitting, massage, reflexology, helping at the rv park, errand...

Are you dreaming of a new lifestyle that allows you to travel to your hearts content? Are you a seasoned veteran of "road work"? Are you somewhere in between? Then "Support Your RV Lifestyle" by Jaimie Hall is a must read . It will quickly become the most used "how-to" book in your library.

Jaimie's fresh approach to the subject is brought to life through stories gathered from fellow working Rvers during her 10 years on the road. All the basics are covered....and then some. You will learn not only what to do, but exactly how, when and where to do it like a pro. The book is divided into sections, making it possible to utilize the information in several ways.

Your journey begins with learning the 14 mistakes working Rvers can avoid. If you already have some experience working on the road, you may recognize some of these. The information you find here can help you avoid these situations. Hall then leads you through a self discovery process that will enable you to take control of your work possibilities, make decisions about what you would like to do and show you how to make it happen.

How much will the fulltiming lifestyle cost? There are as many answers as there are working Rvers. You will find out how to answer this question for yourself and discover ways to meet your goals. Good ideas for developing and living within a budget are shared through the experiences of others.

The Nitty-Gritty Of Getting Work To Support Rving is a tool box of strategies for finding jobs or volunteer positions, filling out applications, creating a resume and cover letter, interviewing and keeping in touch. The tips in this section will certainly give you an edge over the competition. The advice on how and when to accept an offer will show you ways to increase your pay both directly and indirectly via additional perks. You will find lots of suggestions to help you be successful in meeting challenges you will encounter on the job.

The section covering the Job List and more than 300 Money Making Opportunities contains not only the information you need to find these jobs, but introduces you to many Rvers who share their stories about supporting their lifestyle while living their dream of travel.

RV Lifestyle Considerations covers things like health insurance, unemployment and minimizing expenses. You will learn that there are jobs available that will meet the needs of singles, the disabled and families that travel with children. Concerns about leaving your old life behind are addressed along with suggestions on establishing a new "community".

Several Appendices provide extensive information about various Federal and State agencies that are potential employers and/or information sources to help you manage your traveling lifestyle. Budget worksheets and related information can also be found in this section.

Finally, The Resource section is worth the price of the book by itself. Arranged by chapter, it is a comprehensive list of specific job search sites, employers and resources for locating job openings.

This book has already become "The Bible" of working Rvers and can help you, too, turn your dreams into reality.

Are you one of those countless people who yearn for adventure but feel stuck at your current address and dreary desk job because you fear you can't afford to try something new? Now Jaimie Hall's new book, Support Your RV Lifestyle, provides a no-more-excuses manual on ways to make money and have fun living and traveling in an RV, too. Just leafing through these pages was a vicarious employment adventure, and I kept finding things I was itching to try out from Jaimie's fun smorgasbord of job descriptions. I could sell ads for campground maps ... or sell tickets at the circus ... or even work as a fire spotter for the U.S. Forest Service. Why not?

I thot this would have info about full-time RVers.
RVers don't stay in one place for long, and finding a job in such a circumstance is different than being in a stick-built house.

Not a single idea about self-employment ideas for RVers.

Things I thot it would have are pet sitting, massage, reflexology, helping at the rv park, errand services, cleaning, things that one can do in the rv park, or from an rv.

Or places to work, like Walmart, JC Penney, fast food, businesses that are located nationally, where they will hire someone with short-term employment history.

Or ideas of businesses to do over the internet, that can be done from one's RV.

OK. I had those ideas on my own -- none were in the book.

If some form of work, whether volunteer or paid, is in your RVing future, then BUY THIS BOOK. It has an incredible amount of information and sound, solid advice. Comprehensive, easy to read and very well laid out. This book is worth far more than the cover price. Work is in my RVing future and this book has given me ideas I would never have thought of.

5.0 out of 5 stars Planning for the best of both worlds, March 15, 2007

Many people who contemplate living the RV lifestyle probably equate it with a leisurely retirement. But what if you combine RVing with a lucrative work life? You may discover that you can hit the road at a younger age and reap more rewards.
Support Your RV Lifestyle spells out in great detail exactly how to live this dream life. Jaimie Hall speaks from her own experience and culls information from a wealth of other sources to create a comprehensive tool for planning to live and work on the road.
Just as you wouldn't set out on a trip without a road map, you would be miles ahead by consulting this guide before embarking on this life journey. There's a lot more to consider than where to park your vehicle each night. Don't assume you'll just "find a job" when you reach your destination. There are many considerations, from tying your marketable skills to a job on the road, to balancing work and fun, to tax implications. Because Ms. Hall is so thorough with her guidance, you will be well-equipped to make decisions about how to combine work with pleasure.
It is likely that some of her 100-plus pages of worksheets and resource lists would assist travelers in general, not only those traveling and working out of an RV. You'll recoup the price of this travel guide many times if you choose to follow its course for living and working on the road
