Supposing we all bring a pangolin to work,
By
This review is from: Supposing.... (Hardcover)
This is a crazy book with lots of weird ideas that, while it may not actually lead children to commit mischief, should at least encourage them to think about it. It will also encourage adults (I hope_ to shed their facades of responsibility to pull pranks. It will make you laugh. In short, it's a classic. Great illustrations and outrageous "supposing" scenarios tug at the joker in us all.. (For some reason, there was a copy in my college library, no doubt because the author has published a variety of learned books as well. I used to check it our every few months or so.)

This is a wonderful and funny book,

"Supposing" is one of those books that adults look at and wonder if it's appropriate for children because they've forgotten what it's like to be a child. It's a funny book that presents some slightly skewed one-page "what if" scenarios that are guaranteed to engage the imagination of anyone who has an imagination.

Stupidity for stupidities sake,

I too remember this book from my childhood. It's with fond memories that I recall hours spent at pre-school with my best friend, in stitches laughing at the sheer ridiculousness of "Supposing". We still quote silly passages even now. It's one of those books that makes a young person LOVE to read.In fact, I'm trying to get hold of a copy for future generations, if anyone knows of a copy - please do let me know where I can purchase it. Viva la difference!

Wonderfully Quirky Book,

This review is from: Supposing.... (Hardcover)
I remember this book from my childhood. This book is great. Totally off the wall. Filled with quirky what ifs...The previous reader is way off base...this is a wonderfully imaginative book for children...yes children. Unless you're a bit unstable or too simple minded to grasp the humor in this book, taking it at face value and missing the point (always a problem with over pc parents), you will enjoy this book.

This really isn't a book for a small child but is written more for the adult reading to the child. It like Jack Handy for children and the illustrations are hillarious. Its a book you'll quote for life.

Encourages kids to think creatively,

This is one of the favorite books I've bought for my 8, 6, and 4 year olds. They all enjoy it (although the littlest one can't get all the concepts yet, the other two kids love them). I love that it encourages creativity and collaboration; we've now started playing our own "supposing" games (great for car rides, by the way!), and one idea will build on the next. My oldest came up with a "supposing" scenario and said it would be a great way to start a story. I'm thinking of buying this book as a gift for my childrens' classrooms - really a fun way to spark the imagination.

So funny,

This is one of the best kids books I've ever read. It's so completely random that every page surprises you. The illustrations are really simple, but funny. I found this one at my college library too while checking out kids books for a class. Out of the 20+ books I borrowed, this was by far the best.

1st Book I've Ever Thrown Directly In the Trash,

This book was so weird and creepy that it was the first book I've ever thrown directly in the trash. I felt a teensy bit bad throwing a book in the trash. Couldn't I donate it to a library? A hospital? A school? GOD no. It's so awful that I wouldn't feel ok about doing that! Couldn't I gift it to someone I don't like? NO way. No kids deserve to be punished by reading this book, no matter how annoying, they or their parents are. DO NOT BUY THIS CREEEEEEPY BOOK. Or at the very least, read it before you buy it! My bad.

As a grownup found this book delightfully funny with valid depictions
of imaginations - but some are too grownup for children - Am sharing book with my brother-in-law rather than with my grand daughter (age 5).

Supposing,

This was a terrible book that children should not read. It opens up crazy thoughts in a person's mind that they shoudn't think about. You don't write a children's book that thinks about taking old hair from a barber shop and mailing it to people you hate. There are more crazy thoughts like this one in the book. DON'T LET KIDS READ IT
