All three of the Bourne series films with Matt Damon are excellent. Great story lines, superb actors, and excellent characters are in the entire series. The action is intense but not gratuitously so. My family has probably watched this series 20 times over, and we never tired of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars An assured and action-packed sequel., March 13, 2014

Under the steady guidance of Paul Greengrass, THE BOURNE SUPREMACY is a step up from it's predecessor in many ways. Keeping the same brilliant cast and characters, complex plots, smart dialogue, and riveting action sequences, SUPREMACY ups the stakes across the board. With added shaky cam, a scene-stealing villain's performance from Karl Urban, and culminating in one of the greatest car chases in recent memory...Supremacy is an incredible action film and a showcase for Matt Damon's badass performance. Digging into Bourne's past and the morally grey CIA operations that put him there, this is the rare sequel that surpasses the original!

Matt Damon returns as Jason Bourne, a former CIA black-ops assassin suffering from amnesia. Unable to remember his past, Bourne is a man with a special set of skills and a driving need for answers. In the CIA corner, we have a brilliant Brian Cox, and a powerful Joan Allen as Pamela Landy, a CIA director embroiled in Bourne's past and present. In the supporting cast, we have an ice-cold Karl Urban (badass as usual), and Julia Stiles in her best role ever as a young analyst. This is an excellent cast who lend weight to their roles and credibility that fits Paul Greengrass's documentary-esque style perfectly.

Let's talk about the shaky cam. Greengrass's signature camerawork puts you in the front seat with Bourne, close to the flying elbows in a fight scene, and hovering over classified documents, lending an air of realism and immediacy that fits the action perfectly. Oh, that's right: action. Action junkies should - no, WILL - have all their needs met by this movie! The fighting (and this comes from an MMA student...) is a raw, real, no-nonsense, no-frills flurry of elbows and knees (and whatever weapon lies at hand). The car chases are PHENOMENAL, fast and brutal affairs that set your teeth on edge. Some scenes may get a bit tech-y, but The Bourne Supremacy is always smart, riveting, and fast-paced.

In conclusion, THE BOURNE SUPREMACY is a sequel that surpasses it's awesome original in every way: broader in scope, faster in pace, thought-provoking in themes, and made by a fantastic cast and crew, this is a MUST-WATCH for fans of spy cinema, action movies, or just a good ol' time at the movies. 5/5 bullet ridden holes!
