This import offers you some the best of the supremely smooth Al Green, the incarnation of romance, though it is missing a few wonderful tracks, like "You Ought To Be With Me," "Look What You Done For Me," and "Here I Am (Come And Take Me)." There is a domestic two-CD set, "Take Me to the River," that I also recommend as cheaper and more comprehensive. It's out of print but still available from Amazon Marketplace sellers.

This compilation encompasses the main part of Al Green's brilliant career. Songs like 'Let's Stay Together', 'Simply Beautiful' and 'What a Wonderful Thing Love Is' are amazing. But 'How Can You Mend a Broken Heart' is even more special. It is simply the most passionate popular song ever written. It is absolutely impossible not to be moved by it.

I am a ecletic music fan, with a vast range of interest, from Monteverdi to Beck. So I can assure you: if you appreciate music that comes from the heart, buy it now. You will be fully rewarded.

Al still moves me. After that heavy scene in "Book of Eli" where Denzel listens to "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart", I had to get this cd. Great choice. The cd version of that song is the exact pristine copy as in the movie. The entire cd will bring back memories and Al sounds just as fresh now as he did in the way back.
