The Whistling Tea Kettle-Rooster DOESN'T WHISTLE. It MOANS. The "Rooster" Cap
hinge is flimsy. We would like to return it but haven't been able to determine
what protocols to use. The value (at $44.00+ with shipping) does not compare
favorably with similar products in the market ranging from $10- $24.00 in terms of
quality--and the ability to whistle. It's cute--but is now in the pantry
awaiting disposal.

This is a fantastic kettle with a quirky design that will liven up any kitchen, but its best feature is its whistle; rather than the irritating, shrill shriek of your average stove top kettle, this emits a rather pleasant, low croon not unlike a relaxed train whistle. In fact, I'll sometimes let the kettle boil for a few moments, rather than leaping to my feet to remove it from the heat. Highly recommended.

This teapot is prone to catching on fire. That's right-it will fill your kitchen with toxic black smoke. The head, tail, and connecting handle are all made of plastic, and the round shape of the kettle encourages gas burner flames to roll right up the side. Perhaps it should be used on electric ranges only.
Oh yeah--its ugly too.

I bought this as a splurge with a gift certificate. I love chickens and it is so adorable. I will probably keep my old tea kettle because it's much easier to use. This one is difficult to open the top to put water in. The handle does not move from side to side, which makes filling it and cleaning it difficult. The rooster head does not detach, also making cleaning difficult. The "whistling" is a two-tone horn which sounds like a train. When water boils, the steam gushes out all around the head; it's easy to burn yourself as you try to pull the spout back. I will leave this on the stove because as I said, it is adorable. But when I need to boil water, I will probably use my old, white, utilitarian kettle. For $50 I think it's way overpriced.

A wonderful, whimsical tea kettle. My mom had been looking for one that could double as a conversation piece. She previously had a cow tea kettle for years and it had come time for a new one. I actually bought her a Calphalon tea kettle but she prefers this one far more. The design is great, water boils fast, and the whistle is loud and clear. No complaints here! This looks very cute in her little country-style kitchen.

I have a rooster decorated kitchen and when I seen this tea kettle I had to have it. It is just too cute. It blends in so well with my other roosters. Got it very fast with Amazon, like doing business with them.
