5.0 out of 5 stars By Far The Best Out There
Alright, so I've been in a search for the ultimate good-tasting protein bar that's also full of protein but low on carbs and sugar. Let me tell you, this bar is by far the best tasting thing I've tasted and it tastes more like a cross between Crunch candy bar and Twix.
It has 30 g of protein and only 6 g of net carn and 4 g of sugar. It is a little bit more expensive...

1.0 out of 5 stars May be the best out there, but they're still full of junk
Why would you go to the trouble of using whey protein then add soy crisps?

Why use hydrolyzed anything?

Hydrogenated coconut oil?

Potassium sorbate?

Actual ingredients:

INGREDIENTS: SUPREME PROTEIN® BLEND 30g: (WHEY PROTEIN ISOLATE, WHEY PROTEIN CONCENTRATE, MILK PROTEIN ISOLATE), CHOCOLATE COATING (WHEY PROTEIN...

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, March 5, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This product is excellent; it is hard to find a protein bar that doesn't use soy as it's base. Soy works for some but not for me. This is higher in calorie than many bars but it's so satisfying that it's worth the extra calories.
You will not be disappointed!

3.0 out of 5 stars Basically a candy bar with protein, September 28, 2011
By
This review is from: Supreme Protein Bar, Caramel Nut Chocolate, 12 - 3.38 oz Bars (Health and Beauty)
If you're in a pinch and need a protein supplement in a quick and easy package, these bars work very well. To be honest the only time I use them is when I'm on the run and don't have access to real food (which is to say not often). If you have access to either milk or water, then a high quality protein powder is a FAR superior option. Powders will have less fat, fewer carbohydrates, and fewer artificial ingredients.

I have bought a box of these bars on several occasions and am always excited to begin with. Then after a couple bars I lose my enthusiasm for them. I always feel kind of gross after eating one. Make no mistake, these are VERY good tasting protein bars as far as protein bars go. The problem is they are basically candy bars with protein. They have a lot of fat (mostly saturated), and what they lack in sugar they make up with sugar alcohol - which gives you all of the calories with less of the insulin spike. If you are looking for a health food, KEEP LOOKING because this isn't it.

Pros:
- Lots of high quality protein
- Convenient packaging
- Tastes very good

Cons:
- Lots of fat
- Lots of artificial sugar

Bottom line: If you relish the thought of getting your protein in candy form, this might be for you. Health nuts should find other options for their protein supplements though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best tasting protein bar, period, December 26, 2010

While I was on a low carb, high protein diet I went through two of these boxes a month. I have tried every offering that walgreens offered and nothing comes close to tasting as good as this. The chocolate tastes like chocolate, the carmel like carmel, and you're not left with a nasty aftertaste as you are with nearly every other bar. It is a little high in fat but if you're active, this shouldn't be a problem. Do yourself a favor and pick up a box, you will thank me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really tasty with little crispy bits in there..., October 17, 2010

I've tried most of the Supreme Protein flavors, and though I'm still partial to the Rocky Road, this one is very tasty. It has nice crisp bits, is quite chocolatey, and is satisfying protein-wise. I tend to prefer buying the smaller sizes in this bar, and sometimes just have half for a snack when I crave candy. The 1.6 ounce size bar has 190 calories, so half makes for your "almost 100 calories" portioned snack. I don't like to have a lot of sugar-free bars that have maltitol, anyway, as that can give me gas and bathroom ickies. One servings of 1.6 ounces has 7 grams of fat (4.5 saturated), 15 grams of protein, and 15 grams of carbs, so it's balanced for those insulin resistant types who watch the combo of carbs to protein (or folks who just want lower carb snack options.)

Except for the pretzel twist variety, I've liked very much the flavor of the Supreme Protein bars. They really do taste like candy bars.

Enjoy...

3.0 out of 5 stars It tastes good...Too Good, February 24, 2012
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Supreme Protein Bar, Caramel Nut Chocolate, 12 - 3.38 oz Bars (Health and Beauty)
As many of the reviewers have indicated, it does taste very good. Unfortunately that taste is delivered through the use of processed foods and sugar. The bar as 400 calories, the most I've seen in any bar and its high in sugar. I can feel the sugar rush after eating on of these. If you want this as a meal substitute and weight loss isn't high on your list then this is a good bar for that. If you are serious about losing weight I think there are better alternatives. Well at the end of the day I use protein bars sparingly and only for emergencies in case I can't find real whole food.

1.0 out of 5 stars Fiber Bars, December 30, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Supreme Protein Bar, Caramel Nut Chocolate, 12 - 3.38 oz Bars (Health and Beauty)
The Supreme Protein Bars were a good buy, but, unfortunately, each bar had caramel that melted and had stuck to the wrapper. The weather was rather cool when the package was sent and received. Therefore, the caramel melt had to happen at the supply center. Most of the bars were able to be eaten, but each of them had some portion stuck to the wrapper. The price was good, but the quality of the product was bad.

The condition of the protein bars(as described above) makes me rather uncertain whether I will ever order any more food products through Amazon.

2.0 out of 5 stars melted bars, December 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Supreme Protein Bar, Caramel Nut Chocolate, 12 - 3.38 oz Bars (Health and Beauty)
The bars had all melted then firmed up again, but the caramel had leaked out of the bars and stuck the bar to the wrapper. Not too appealing to look at and the taste wasn't as good.

1.0 out of 5 stars Old protein bars, November 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The shipment is on time as always and expected. After openning and trying them the bars were very dry and taste old and stale as if they have been sitting on the shelf for a long time. Definitely not anywhere near the quality they should be compared to when I buy them from the grocery store.
