A really sure thing, April 20, 2009

Like the reviewer above, I have been searching for this on CD for many years - my LP copy having been worn out twenty years ago. It is a beautiful album, and every cut is a gem. Particularly ravishing are the title tune ("A Sure Thing") and "Long Ago and Far Away," both from the 1944 film "Cover Girl." Jerome Kern's melodies never sounded lovelier.

I've been looking for this CD for a long time and was so pleased to find it on Amazon. This is Tuckwell at his best. A special treat for the horn enthusiast looking for something other than the typical "classical" horn repertoire.
