Fire in the palm of your hands,
By RainyDayMagazine "Editors" (Boston) - See all my reviews
This review is from: SureFire E2E-HA Executive Elite Handheld Flashlight, Hard Anodized (Electronics)
SureFire started off making laser sighting systems for use with fire arms. Their success in laser sighting systems made it natural to continue their product line to include all kinds of tactical handheld illumination tools.
The E2E's shell is made of aircraft grade machined aluminum. The cross hatch pattern on the body serves the same function as the G2's molded grid. The smaller size, brighter beam, greater features of the SureFire flashlights make them a better choice for folks looking for the best in personal illumination tools! The only Flashlight you should have,
This review is from: SureFire E2E-HA Executive Elite Handheld Flashlight, Hard Anodized (Electronics)
Still not sure why Amazon is not carrying Surefire. I became a Surefire freak after my boss showed me his collection of lights. My wife usually didn't like me buying things especially a flashlight that is over $100. But after she saw the size of E2D and what it can do she agreed that Surefire is the only light you should own and a great gift for friends and family. Right now she is trying to take all the surefire lights I have from me.

surefire is the only flashlight to own,

i own 3 surefire flashlights, and can truly say that they are the best light made. the light is pure white and intense with no spots in the beam. great for self defense, the beam is bright enough to temporarily blind anyone who may be trying to harm you. i have not had to do this to a person, but while walking my dog at night, we encountered a loose barking dog advancing quickly towards us. i shot the light right in the dog's eyes, stopping it in its tracks giving me enough time to pick up my dog and remove him from harm. a surefire is a must have, and it may one day save your life. the only reason i give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the battery life is short, as should be expected of a light with this intesity. i am considering buying an led model, which should help me with the battery life

I carried an E2E for a few years until I dropped it at work, and somebody snapped it up, rather than turn it in to HR for lost-and-found.I now have a Streamlight TL-2 LED, which is very similar and a little cheaper, but bulkier. The head is noticeably larger. The Streamlight has a whiter beam than the E2E, which has a more yellowish beam. I clip the flashlights on my rear-left pocket. When I need it, I grab the head of the flashlight with my pinky and palm, and when I get it out, the button falls right under my thumb. I won't buy a flashlight without a pocket clip at the head end. There are a bunch of surefire lights with multifunction tailswitches and LED bulbs that will run a lot longer on a set of batteries, but they are all more than twice the cost and the batteries aren't very expensive if you buy a dozen at a time. I'm going to buy anther E2E now, while I still can. I believe that the model has been discontinued, so they can sell more E2Ds, the most expensive, spikier version. The E2E and TL-2 will chew up your pockets enough, I have to imagine the E2D would only accelerate this process.

I bought this for my wife who spends months at a time in the rain forest. She is typically wary of gimmicky outdoor gear (put off by weekend warriors who spend $400 on an @rcteryx jacket and think they're outdoorsy) yet she was quickly sold on it. The size is TINY and brightness is out of this world and can even be used to blind predators. Down side? It gets VERY hot with long use, and uses expensive batteries. I'd recommend any model Surefire.

My favorite flashlight - hands down...,

I have way too many flashlights. I think it's a guy thing but I'm willing to be convinced other wise. Anyway, I was at an outdoor store shopping for a hunter on my Xmas list and passed by the flashlight section. This was a huge store so they had an equally huge flashlight display. Just by look alone, I zeroed in on the Surefire models. Some were out of my league (in price and size) but to my eyes, this one was just about perfect. The size, weight, light output, great feel, nice clip and price met all of my requirements. It's a great flashlight. A really cool thing is that you don't have to "focus" it. It delivers a bright beam because the manufacturer pre-focused it at the factory (geeze, what a concept...make it perfect before you sell it! )
Some concerns are that it's so bright that the glass gets quite hot (ouch, I burned my fingers hot). Also, the bright light eats up batteries - and these bad boys are not cheap. I have extended the life on mine by unscrewing the end with the button when I know I won't be using it soon. This seems to help. It's my go to flashlight. It's a winner.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I bought a month ago and, the light is good but the thing is battery does not last long at all. I had used for a month and used around 3 min per day and within a month battery dead. So before buying one has to remember about the battery life.
