a mean 6P,

This review is from: Surefire Fl Defender Black Crenellated Flashlight (Sports)
The Surefire 6P Defender is just that, a classic 6P with the addition of a strike bezel for self defense. The strike bezel was a popular aftermarket add on for the 6P and it makes sense for Surefire to make a better version in house. The result is a great flashlight with some added self defense capability. Its a good light that you can't go wrong with, and though the strike bezel isn't a necessity for most people, the addition won't hurt either. For serious self defense the addition of a 120 lumen bulb is mandatory for this light and great investment. Another nice thing about the Defender is it comes with a push in tail cap instead of the common twist cap. This is a nice addition to an incredibly useful package.

Great Torch! Even Better With A Drop In Mod!,

This review is from: Surefire Fl Defender Black Crenellated Flashlight (Sports)
The Surefire 6P Defender goes beyond your average Maglite. It has a quality build, is water resistant, and is small and light enough to carry in your pocket.
The strike bezel on the head of the flashlight is great for added protection, and although it does not look like much, is capable of causing some serious damage! I love the tactical tail cap switch for convenient momentary or constant on/off. It does not strain your thumb to hold it down as with some cheaper lights. The reason for 4 stars is that for the price, there are brighter models out there with duel modes, like the Fenix TK10 or 11 models, as well as the Eagletac T10LC2 with its 6o lumen mode and 295 lumen high mode. But, I would recommend the 6P to anyone who has been in the market for this flashlight. It feels great in your hand, and you can just feel the quality. A great option to mod this torch is to purchase a Malkoff M60L or M60 led drop in for increased brightness. Note that these drop-ins were made specifically for Surefires and are of great quality. The M60L is rated at 140 lumen with a constant 4 ½ hour light output (then 2 hours or so useful light). The M60 is rated at 235 lumens for a 90 minute constant output runtime. Both currently cost $55 each.

I have tried many, many small flashlights, but nothing I have ever used remotely compares with my new SureFire Defender. From a quality construction standpoint, it has no equal. The beam is brighter than my 3 cell MagLight & in a much smaller package. If you need a small personal "very bright" light.. By all means buy one.. High price aside, You will NOT regret it..
