The book provided many easy and affordable projects to increase the value of our house and sell our house quickly. My wife and I did most of the projects ourselves, or with a little help from friends. Even the more difficult and expensive projects can be done more easily and economically if you shop around for bargains and have handy family and friends who can help. Based on input from several real estate agents who have inspected our home, the $2,000 we put into cleaning, fixing, painting, and sprucing up our house will increase our selling price by $8,000 to $10,000, and will enable us to sell our house quickly, because it compares very favorably to other houses on the market. This little book more than pays for itself!!!

Home buyers as well as home sellers will learn how to increase the value of ANY home. Many of these improvements can be made anyone, and for very little money. Doing just a few of these things will put more money in the seller's pocket and will decrease the time that their home is on the market. Home buyers will benefit because it will help them spot opportunities when they are looking at homes to buy. Buyers will see things that they can easily and cheaply do after they purchase a 'lower-priced' home to help them make big profits when it is time to sell.

Improvements range from simply cleaning out the refrigerator, to building a deck! The author includes a discussion on the sales value of improvements. And yes, the book DOES offer strategic hints for a successful showing. Ideas that cost nothing: furniture placement, mood enhancement, etc. A very helpful book of improvement ideas, even if you're not selling your home!

While this book provides helpful ideas about projects, I expected and wanted a book that gave hints on preparing your house for sale without spending money. All ideas are in the $100 and up range and are actual construction or other projects. What I was looking for were hints such as: "To make your closet look bigger, do ____, ____ and ____" or "to make your house warm and inviting, light some candles and "brew" cinnamon on the stove when you are showing it"
