5.0 out of 5 stars These really do work!
I bought these because my 15 month old son loves trains but can be, um, quite destructive. I used them on his Melissa and Doug train set and it has been three days and the section I built is still together! It even has an elevated section with a bridge and the Suretrack holds everything in place. They are a little annoying to put on, but definitely worth the time...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as I had hoped
I had heard several great reviews about this product and really hoped it would live up to those expectations. Maybe it is just the track set that we have. I have the Imaginarium Waterfall set that came with the table. Most of it is elevated. My two year old kept trying to push trains along and the tracks but they would not stay put. So I got these hoping it would...

I bought two boxes of these but actually only used one box. I discovered that when I clipped together all of the track together, my son wasn't as creative or interested in playing. When I only clipped together about half the track to keep some semblance of order he was still able to use some creativity and build motor skills by taking apart and putting together some of the track. Kids this age really want to learn and experiment and I personally feel my son gains a lot more by having the freedom to take some of the train set apart and put it back together. On the other hand when I didn't have any track clipped together it was a chaotic mess (you all know what I mean).

These clips do a fairly good job of doing what they are supposed to do. They will firmly attach two pieces of straight or curved track together. They don't work as well on switch tracks because those tracks are too wide.

I found them most useful for everywhere the track is raised. Put them at the bottoms of ascending tracks and also to connect the track that is raised and this keeps all of your elevations locked up pretty tight.

I would certainly recommend these but I also recommend not trying to lock-down your whole layout or you may take away some of the fun and opportunity to learn and develop from your toddler.

I used them on his Melissa and Doug train set and it has been three days and the section I built is still together! It even has an elevated section with a bridge and the Suretrack holds everything in place. They are a little annoying to put on, but definitely worth the time investment if it means my son can play with the train set without getting frustrated and tearing apart the track.

They are very inexpensive and worth every penny. I got the two pack and could probably use another, so make sure you order several packs if you have a larger set.

We bought a Melissa & Doug train set for our son, and at the urging of other reviewers, we bought two packages of Suretrack clips to go with it. The clips turned out to be absolutely essential. On elevated tracks, they save a lot of grief by holding the tracks together even when a support beam underneath falls over. And the amount of stability they add makes it easy to tweak and build onto the tracks without losing the work you've already done. Also, if you're building on a slightly uneven surface, such as carpet, the clips help the tracks to stay level and keep the trains running more smoothly. These clips are a must-have.

A bit expensive but there isn't a cheaper brand or product. They made the tracks, especially the raised tracks, sturdy and durable for a 5, 3, and 18 month old. I had to fix the track by the minute without them, now I have to fix the track about every hour and it is never for a piece that is secured with a clip. Clips are easy to install, easy to uninstall, and the kids leave them alone because they do not attract any attention to themselves and even if they did notice them I don't think they would be able to uninstall them. They do not get in the way of the trains and I haven't had one break yet. I highly recommend this product although I think they are overpriced as they are made simply out of durable plastic. I would purchase them again.

1.0 out of 5 stars These train track clips are practically useless., December 1, 2011

I am not sure why the other reviews are so good here, because I found the clips to be practically useless. They really didn't help hold the track together much better than they were already. As another reviewer noted, they don't work on thicker tracks, like bridges, which are most likely to come apart.
I feel like I entirely wasted my money on this product.

These work pretty well. They don't fit on some pieces like some types of bridges. They do help keep the track together when a toddler trips over it.

I recommend these for anyone with a young child that likes to pick up the tracks and throw them like mine. It saves me a lot of time having to put them all back together!

I am so happy to have ordered these clips. Our son got into trains at about 18-months of age. He was not old enough to use the train set carefully, and he often lifted up on the track pieces, taking them apart. This would lead to him crying in frustration. I considered nailing or gluing the pieces down, but I didn't want to remove any future chance of changing the track layout. When he's older, I want him to be able to apply his creativity and build his own layout. These clips have allowed me to set up the track in a fun configuration while preserving the flexibility to revise it (which I've done several times after buying new components). They clips stay in place very well, they cause no interference with the trains' wheels, and they're easy to put on. What a simple invention, what a positive impact!

If you want options when it comes to securing your wooden railway tracks then the Suretrack System is a MUST have. For a reasonable price you get loads of little plastic supports to hold your weak links together. It's also great when you find yourself needing to match up end pieces that normally wouldn't go together.

I have the Imaginarium Waterfall set that came with the table. Most of it is elevated. My two year old kept trying to push trains along and the tracks but they would not stay put. So I got these hoping it would increase the stability. It did that, a little. They still fall apart pretty frequently and I am not able to put them at each of the joints because of the way the pieces fit together. Maybe that is part of our problem too. I really hate to put away all of the extras buildings, mountains and bridges but I may have to do that until he is a little older.
