TECHNICALLY SPEAKING, THIS IS A SURF AND "HOT ROD" MUSIC CD. THERE ARE A LOT OF SONGS RELATED TO CARS AND RACING HERE. MY FAVORITE IS "SHE RIDES WITH ME", SUNG BY PAUL PETERSEN (FROM THE DONNA REED SHOW), WITH THE BEACH BOYS PLAYING BACKUP (!). ANOTHER GOOD ONE IS "LET'S GO WHERE THE ACTION IS" BY TOMMY BOYCE (FROM THE SONGWRITING DUO BOYCE AND HART WHO WROTE A LOT OF THE HITS LATER ON FOR THE MONKEES). BUT THERE ARE SOME OTHER RARE GEMS HERE TOO THAT YOU WILL LIKE. COUPLE OF GREAT SONGS BY THE TORNADOES (YOU SHOULD GET THEIR GREATEST HITS CD AS WELL, IT ROCKS!), THE SHUTDOWNS, AND THE CUSTOMS (FEATURING EARLY SURFING MUSIC LEGEND GARY USHER.

This CD feature 20 surf and hot rod records from the early '60s. None of these records were hits, and almost all of them are very rare (although "Bustin' Surfboards" turned up on the Pulp Fiction soundtrack). These songs and instrumentals are all very cool. If you are a fan of surf music, you will love this CD.

This is a veary well produced CD with excellent liner notes which talk about all the songs on the album.I was veary impressed with the tracks on this album there are some veary rare songs on here like Hit The Surf by The Sea Shells Skateboard by The Sidewalk Surfers and on of the all time unknown but increadably cool songs She Ain't a Yacht by The Cabin Crew and then there are classics like GeeTO Tiger By The Tiger's which among GTO fans is famous but was overshadowed in its day by Little GTO by Ronny and the Daytonas which makes this a real rare treasure today and in my opinion is a better song all in all an excellent CD
