4.0 out of 5 stars My son adores this!!
Although it took awhile to get our tadpoles, when they arrived my son and his little sisters became frog experts! We ordered two tadpoles to ensure we would actually get one frog, and both developed. One took considerably longer to develop than the other, and the metamorphosis was quicker when I moved him to a quieter place. Watching the frogs eat crickets has become a...

My son was given this as a gift last Christmas. We sent the coupon in right away for two tadpoles. It took until February to receive them. Unfortunately one arrived dead, but was replaced by the company at no additional charge. Consumers need to be aware that it has taken upwards of four to five months for each tadpole to "morph" into a frog. The surf school is a good enviroment however the air slats in the side of the school weren't designed to keep crickets in. So when feeding time approached, my son had to cover the side airvents with masking tape to prevent food from escaping. His surf school also had a horrible smell, (possible from the plastic) since the day he received it.

I sent off for the frogs and waited a couple of months for them to arrive. When they finally came the tabpoles were a little dead. I wouldn't advise buying this - too long to wait and very disappointing when receiving dead tabpoles.

i have no problem with the Surf Frog Habitat, but the tadpole suppliers, Frog Farm - the ONLY supplier included in the enclosed paperwork - STINKS! i bought this item LAST APRIL for a birthday present and we STILL have no tadpoles - Frog Farm is ingoring me. but they wasted no time cashing my check....buy this product at your own risk!

One took considerably longer to develop than the other, and the metamorphosis was quicker when I moved him to a quieter place. Watching the frogs eat crickets has become a family pasttime (who'd have ever thought??). Everyone who comes to the house has to see the frogs....I would recommend this product highly! Just be informed that the frogs live up to 5 years and cannot be released into the wild. Have a froggy day!

I got Surf Frogs for my daughter. The tadpoles came within 3-4 weeks. One of the tadpole's is getting larger then the other and has already developed legs. We have been taking them to her 4 yr old pre-school and the children love it. I would highly encourage a parent to get this for their child. Very educational. I wanted to get another set but they are unavailabe. The habitat is being occupied by a "Newt" at the present time and he loves the little pool. It great to keep other little creatures in too and enjoyable to watch them.

I have to say that my children haven't enjoyed this toy much since we have been waiting for over six weeks for delivery of our tadpoles. Our check for shipping and handling was cashed a month ago, but the people at Uncle Milton have no clue about the status of our order other than to tell is it hasn't been shipped (very helpful information). In fact, they won't even offer us a ballpark estimate of when they _might_ be shipped. Given the time of year, if they don't get a move on, it will be too hot to ship them for the rest of the summer. If you choose to buy this for your children, I would wait until you have the tadpoles in hand to tell them about it. I waited until I felt confident that the tadpoles were "on their way" to spill the beans and now my boys are disappointed day after day when they don't arrive as promised.

My son got this for Christmas last year. His tadpole was turning into a frog when it committed suicide (it knocked off the lid to the surf school and got out. the surf school is not made well and the lid just lays there, it does not lock on or snap on). When I called customer service, the wanted to sell me new tadpoles. I argued that the suicide was due to a poorly constructed container so they finally sent me a new tadpole - which arrived dead. Customer service sent me a refund for the tadpole shipping and I went to the local bait shop for a new tadpole. The frog is doing well and is very fast when she gets out (my son dropped it when I was cleaning the environment and it got under the dishwasher! That was a real treat but we did manage to catch her). He has lost some interest but overall the product is fair.

I bought Surf Frogs for my daughters class room and was amazed how much the kids enjoyed watching the tadpole metamorphose into a frog, which is now the class pet. Not only was this educational, but it was fun for everyone. I plan on purchasing one for my own use.
