Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

PreSchool-K-When Sally Snail brings Surf Sammy a box from his Uncle Joe, he is excited to find a new computer. It comes to life, introduces itself as Mr. Wits, and teaches Surf Sammy and his friend Liz about what computers can do and how to use them. The terms that Mr. Wits introduces (printer, monitor, mouse, diskette, etc.) are in bold and are defined briefly in the rhymed text. The cartoon artwork does little to enhance the narrative. This is a marginal addition for libraries whose very young patrons have never seen a computer. For slightly older children, stick with Marc Brown's Arthur's Computer Disaster (Little, Brown, 1997) or Dennis Brindell Fradin's Personal Computers (Children's, 1997).

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is great for kids!, October 1, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Surf Sammy's New Computer: A Surf Sammy & Friends Computer Adventure (Hardcover)
Do you have kids that want to know more about computers, always asking why, what, and how? I do and lots of questions always arise with Daddy's computer! This book is a fun introduction to teaching kids about computers. The rhyming is great, and it explains complex concepts in easy bite-sized (pun intended) way. It makes it easy for kids to remember.

I can't wait to see the rest of the books in the series!
