This is a very easy to read book pretty much with only Pablo.
There is only a few words, one sentence to a page.

It is great for the quick bedtime story :).

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute and Simple Book Encourage Children to Read AND Keeps Their Interest, December 6, 2008

This review is from: Surf That Wave! (Backyardigans Ready-to-Read) (Paperback)
This is another cute book in the Backyardigans series, based on an episode about finding Tiki Beach. This book doesn't go into detail...it just uses 3-5 word sentences to describe what's happening on the page. Not thrilling for us adults but--for kids who love Backyardigans--it's awesome. Our 2-year old son reads all the words on each page; before he could read them, he would look at the picture to figure our what the words said. This is a great book to encourage children to read and build their confidence. As a teacher and early literacy supporter, I love the pre-K books or ones that are simply words, just in shorter sentences or with repetition.

I love Backyardigans myself, honestly, because it encourages children to use their imaginations, their songs are catchy and NOT annoying, the stories are cute and creative, and the morals are fun and easy-to-understand. Our son has 10 of these books and loves them all, can read many of the words in them, and has them all memorized! They're part of our daily nap and bedtime routines and we all highly recommend them!

My son is three, and loves this particular episode. The book is not like the TV episode, however, because it's quite simplistic and shortened. The book is tailored towards a beginning reader. I like it because my son can learn to identify simple words, so I'm happy that I purchased it. He feels good about himself when he can recognize a word, so it's perfect for that purpose.
