Best electronic music out there,

As impressed with their Open Aeon EP as I was (somewhat!!), I of course was very excited to hear that they were releasing a full length cd. I approached Surfacing with ridiculously high expectations which were absolutely met in every way. Surfacing has 14 tracks which flow extremely well and of course none that you'll want to skip. That is, if you have ears and you enjoy listening to wonderful music.Some electronic music can become dull. I prefer VNV Nation over Suicide Commando, but the harsher industro groups are cool for short bursts. Empty is somewhere in between. And with Surfacing, they bring together melodic and harsh electronics with melodic and harsh vocals and they make it all work brilliantly. Each song is unique, and yet they all flow. The one that stands out most is "Frames" with the additional vocalist. "Drift" is currently my favorite, but it could easily be any of the other songs. And will be at some point. Highly recommended to everyone. |
