Book Description

May 1, 2009
“Hang ten!” takes on new meaning in this collection of erotic stories that follows the sexual escapades of those fabulous beach boys. Their taut, tanned bodies glistening with water and their hair damp from a dip in the ocean, these dudes are like sex on surfboards — fast, sleek, and oh so hot! The 19 stories — including “Blue Star Boy,” “Samurai of the Surf,” and “Surf Stud Initiation” — follow the adventures of these sensuous surfers from Cape Cod to Japan to Hawaii as they ride the waves of pleasure to anything from tender romance to raw, hardcore sex. Featuring such noted erotic authors as Shane Allison, Rob Rosen, Jay Starre, and Aaron Micheals, these stories show that the beach has a lot more to offer than just a tan.

More About the Author

I've wanted to be an author since I was about sixteen, when a high school assignment on A Separate Peace showed me how powerful writing can be. At the University of Pennsylvania I studied creative writing with Philip Roth and Carlos Fuentes; I went on to receive my MFA from Florida International University.

Kimo Kanapa'aka, the detective hero of Mahu, Mahu Surfer, Mahu Fire, Mahu Vice, Mahu Men, and Mahu Blood (due out in Fall 2010) has had a powerful hold on my imagination for many years. I love writing about him and hope to keep doing so for a long time.

In addition to writing about Hawaii, I've edited a collection of essays about gay men and their dogs, called Paws and Reflect, as well as three erotic anthologies: Hard Hats, Surfer Boys, and Skater Boys. My romance novels are GayLife.com, Three Wrong Turns in the Desert, and Dancing with the Tide.

I live in Hollywood, Florida now, with my partner and our golden retriever. Sam is the inspiration for Rochester in my Kindle mystery, In Dog We Trust.

HOT HOT stories! You will not regret purchasing this book. I read this over the summer at the beach wishing for my own surfer boy to arrive (alas he did not, but I still had fun).

2.0 out of 5 stars How many times can you use the word "dude" in a story before driving your readers crazy?, February 18, 2011
Not as many times as this author did, that's how many.

It's just personal preference, but I prefer reading the word "cock" over "manhood", "tool", "meat" etc. I just can't find it hot when a character is touching his partner's "manhood".

Another personal preference, but Amazon / the publisher did not do a very good job converting this book to Kindle. The font is weird and not as easy to read as the usual Kindle font, and the word spacing is unnatural and irritating.

All in all, I did not enjoy reading this because it felt too much like reading badfics. And the poor Kindle formatting definitely did not help.

This review is from: Surfer Boys: Gay Erotic Stories (Paperback)
The best of a dozen or so gay erotica books I've bought in the last year. These are stories about real people you might meet on the beach yourself someday. Erotic is the right word for every one of these stories.
