5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent
Most popular arrangements of traditional carols are extremely annoying. These aren't. These guys do it right. It's as good as any surf music I have heard.

2.0 out of 5 stars They shouted out with glee!
The idea was a good one: surf music versions of Christmas songs. But the excecution leaves a lot to be desired. The problem is that, while the album has the trappings of surf music, it doesn't feel like "real" surf music. Probably because "The Wave Benders" aren't a real surf group. The album was recorded by a bunch of studio musicians in Amsterdam, of all places...

5.0 out of 5 stars Groovy Surfin Christmas Cheer, October 16, 2005

If you are sick and tired of the age old Christmas classics, and you like that groovy guitar rock sound of the 50's and 60's you will find this Christmas alternative very refreshing.

This Wave Benders compilation includes 12 wave-pounding and rockin' Christmas Classics performed with 50's and 60's vintage guitars and amps. You will also dig the sound of strings, theremin and some excellent percussion sounds from the glockenspiel and wave drum.

Join the Wave Benders in this groovy & rockin' musical Christmas smorgasboard. It's a fun and high energy alternative to the solemn traditional Christmas classics.

The album was recorded by a bunch of studio musicians in Amsterdam, of all places. So, what we have here is an album of generic "surf music" versions of Christmas songs.
