Most Helpful Customer Reviews

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful By Lydia E. York on July 31, 2011
Format: MP3 Music
Amon Tobin is the genius behind the soundtrack to Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. I suggest that is the commercial artist at work. Ben Hogwood of MusicOMH.com applauded Tobin's use of melody and texture, adding that he controlled the sounds with the "clarity of a classical orchestrator." Tobin is the artist that makes all other sampling sound juvenile by comparison. The original may not be recognizable when he's done with it.

Amazon offered an Amon Tobin remix as the song of the day on July 31, 2011. The base single which is the subject of an EP release is complex and short, but every musical idea he works with is there. The Two Fingers Remix is a straightforward restatement of the original theme. Other remixes on this intriguing EP offer vocals, and a wonderful 16Bit Remix to round out this set of remixes that are complex, challenging, and ought to be more widely known.
