Book Description

Twenty-two-year-old Lara is dedicated to her studies as a law student at Melbourne University. She has no interest in love or relationships, and instead spends her free time hanging out with friends, visiting her grandmother in the nearby seaside town of Anglesea, and hitting the waves on her surfboard. But when a mysterious new student arrives at Lara’s school, everything changes. Try as she might, she just can’t fight the instant attraction she feels towards this gorgeous, slightly older man.

Transfer student Marcus likes Lara immediately and sets out to earn her friendship - and only her friendship. Because Marcus has a secret that no one at school knows - a secret that, if revealed, could jeopardize not only his relationship with Lara, but everything he’s worked for his entire life. But when their mutual attraction rises to a point that can no longer be ignored, Marcus must choose between giving into his feelings for Lara, despite the fact that he’s lying to her, and walking away forever.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great romance - loved it! February 21, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
It's great to pick up a book that just grabs your attention. Surge was this kind of book. It was easy to read, but compelling. I read it over two nights and didn't want it to end. I'll definitely be keeping my eyes out for Carter's next book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Romance February 13, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
(Fellow author Caroline Carter and I share a publisher, Crimson Romance, and I was very happy to provide the honest review which she requested.) Caroline Carter paints a picture that takes the reader to both urban Melbourne and the coastal village of Anglesea. Her clear familiarity with law and the lifestyle of a young law student lend the story a ring of authenticity. What I enjoyed most about this story is that while the heroine, Lara, clearly longs for the conflicted hero, Marcus, their romance retains a sweet and innocent quality, and the twist near the end of the book leads to a happy resolution for all.
