Other topics addressed in this work are modern anaesthetic techniques, intensive care management and clinical investigation (without which modern surgery would not have made such strides). At the same time, the specific surgical techniques relating to biliary tract problems, tumours, portal hypertension, infection, trauma and transplantation are thoroughly covered.
