"If you haven't already, I implore you to head over to Suri's Burn Book, a Tumblr account that answers the question, 'What would Suri Cruise think about this outfit?' Here, you find biting comments about Hollywood's more unfortunate offspring, as imagined from the perspective of Cruise herself."
"I feel like every day I become obsessed with a new Tumblr, and today it's Suri's Burn Book."
"In a world where every other person (alright, 5 per cent of people) puts their child on Facebook and Hollywood's baby pictures fetch upwards of seven digits...we're thankful it's come in the form of Suri's Burn Book, a brilliant Tumblr account written from the perspective of Suri Cruise, complete with all the inside jokes and less than thinly veiled insults one could hope for from this queen of the toddler set."

There are some really great segments in the book that made me laugh out loud. She describes Will and Jada's efforts to make Willow Smith famous as a "fool's errand." (page 25) Allie Hagan's "Suri" is a little jealous of Harper Beckham and hastens to point out that "everyone seems to overlook that Harper has a rather shapeless body, forcing her mother to dress her in shift dress after shift dress," which is quite funny since, for those of you who don't know, Harper is a baby and supposed to be shaped like a potato with arms. (page 49) My favorite moment, however, is the lecture on ladylike behavior: ladies never wear out their welcome. "Suri" adds, "Lady Gaga, I hope you are watching the clock." (page 92)
I really respect Allie Hagan's ability to create a believable character in her version of Suri. As I read the book and blog, I often forget that Suri's not actually writing it. This book is a great effort by a new author and I recommend it to anyone with a sense of humor and at least a mild interest in celebrity gossip.
The author has a wonderful voice that is consistent and sarcastic. She pokes fun at the Hollywood Elite that take themselves too seriously when they really shouldn't. It's very smart, and isn't just a lazy compilation of popular blog posts. It's all new material!
Suri's Burn Book isn't Anna Karenina, but it's not trying to be! It's a fun read, and not to mention, MUCH shorter than that piece of work! Pass it along to your friends after you're done, or sneak a quick read before you gift it - you won't regret it!
