Surly Tuggnut Tensioner With Adaptor Washer

I work in a bicycle store in New York City and thought I had seen everything, in till a few weeks ago while on a ride, I saw a bicyclist who was in front of me on a fixed bike and his rear wheel came off while riding. It was then that I decided to get the Tuggonut for my fixe bike. The rider whose wheel came off got hurt bad. Anyway, I ordered the Tuggonut, it will make sure your wheel stays on the bike. The company sent it, I received it, can't ask for more than that.

If your considering converting your road bike from geared to single speed or fixie, pick up one of these bad boys to make sure your chain is tensioned properly. I used this on my surly cross check build and haven't thought about it since.

I also occasionally open a beer or two.

This SS tensioner is the best of its kind. You are really able to dial it is very easily and without fuss.
Another part of the deal is it looks so good that everyone asks you what it is...
It does its job and looks good doing it. It costs a bit more than others but its worth every penny.

The tug nuts are pretty will made and handle the abuse that I dish out. I like the ability to replace threaded bolt if necessary also.

I really like the Tuggnut. It is substantially thinner than some of it's aluminium counterparts and weighs virtually naught more. And the beer --ahem--soda bottle openers work great and mean you don't have to carry one with you on long rides, freeing up more space for beer--ahem--soda!

It fit right on my 2011 Surly Karate Monkey SS. Had problems with the chain slacking out, now I don't.
