About the Author

Tracey J. Lyons always liked to play make-believe. So writing fiction seemed like a natural progression in her life. What started out as a little girl imagining that all those hidden nooks and crannies in her backyard were castles and mansions, evolved into a teenager wanting to become an actress, and ended up turning into a young woman writing romance novels.

Tracey holds an Associates Degree in Theatre Arts. Married for 23 years to her high school sweetheart, they are the proud parents of two sons. Tracey lives in upstate NY.

Look for the second and third books in this historical series: Lydia's Passion and Making Over Maggie.

Premise is fine but writing is too simplistic.

ABIGAIL IS THE FIRST BOOK IN A FAMILY SAGA SET IN THE WILD WEST. SHE IS DRAWN TO SURPRISE, A TOWN THAT IS FAILING BY HER ELDERLY AUNT, WHO FAKES ILLNESS. THE AUNT IS WANTING TO RESTORE SURPRISE AND MAKE IT A TOWN TO BE PROUD OF. SHE DETERMINES THAT ABIGAIL WOULD MAKE A GOOD SHERIFF. AND SHE DOES. SHE IS ROMANTICALLY DRAWN TO A MAN THAT SHE THINKS ROBBED A JEWELRY STORE AND LOCKS HIM UP. HE APPEARS TO BE ANYTHING BUT A BREAKER OF THE LAW AND SHE GOES ABOUT FINDING OUT JUST WHO THIS MAN IS. WONDERFUL READ. AS ARE THE OTHER TWO BOOKS.

A nice story with a little romance and nothing vulgar, which made it an enjoyable book for me to read.

Excellent period piece that captures your interest from the first page. Transports you back in time to early American culture and the struggles of the time. Couldn't put it down.

Nice book. It was an easy read with a very nice story. Not much of a plot! It had a predictable ending.

I enjoy reading novels set in the 19th century. This was different as one of the main characters was a sheriff named Abigail. It was interesting and easy reading. Also, a wholesome read as well. I would definitely recommend this novel.
