Review

A new historical series, Surrender to Destiny, centers around the War of 1812. Tyndall brings new life to the old story of finding romance during war. Her characters are courageous, smart and believe in what they are fighting for.

Page by page and chapter by chapter MaryLu takes you on an adventure rocked by the waves of the sea.

From the snuggles of Seafoam the cat, to the pressure of the darkness in the cabins to the verbiage and the practical pirates at sea -- I love every bit of it!  Each story from MaryLu brings me dying for more!  I'm desperately impatient in awaiting the next novel and more.  This is a story to get in your heart.  It will entertain you and educate you, cause you to look into yourself and grow spiritually as well as sigh in romantic bliss.  It has it all.
(Margaret Chind Creative Madness Blog 20100314)

For the best in historical romance, commit to memory the name MaryLu Tyndall.  SURRENDER THE HEART is just one of the many novels this wonderful author has written.  With each new book I discover of hers I can rest assured she will provide me the utmost reading pleasure.  This talented author puts a new spin on swashbuckling romance with her own unique style.  You definitely will find yourself rewarded when you take the time to read any one of her novels

I love historical fiction and "Surrender the Heart" captures the brink of the war of 1812 wonderfully. The novel feels realistic to the time period although it is fiction. I could easily imagine most of the events that transpired. I would recommend this book to other readers, particularly those who have an interest in romance, Christian fiction or historical fiction. I look forward to reading the remainder of this series.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I had no desire to put it down. Ms. Tyndall has the ability to make you feel as though you were actually there in the thick of things by her spellbinding imagery. I look forward to reading more of her works, and highly recommend it to those who love historical fiction.

My wife ripped through "Surrender the Heart" over a couple of nights of staying up until 4 am. I was intrigued. What was in this (and the other Tyndall book previous) that was so captivating. So, I decided to read the book. Actually, I was pleasantly surprised. It was a good read. The author keeps the pace moving (the latter part of the book moves faster) and there is a good element of Divine Providence in the story. I have done a full review of the book on my site [...] (August 23, 2010). I would throw out the challenge that perhaps men ought to take the time to read "romance novels" such as Tyndall's book with their wives. Shouldn't we be interested in what interests the ladies in our lives?

I have absolutely NO problems with Christians or religious people or books. HOWEVER, when I buy a book I like to know what category it REALLY falls into. I've noticed that Francine Rivers and other Christian romance authors have particularly high ratings on their romance novels. I am glad that people enjoy Ms. Rivers' books, and this author's as well, but it really gives a skewed perception. These books are ranked high by people looking for Christian romance novels; these novels simply do NOT compare to other historical romance novels in style, content, pace, language usage, etc. These books are in a different category altogether. I now know that I need to read the reviews to find out what is really going on prior to buying books on Amazon. The summary by the publisher and Amazon don't mention the religious aspect of the novels and only the reviewers will point to the proper category of writing that these fall into. If Amazon just separated these off from regular romance novels to begin with, it would be most helpful; not only for people like me who want to avoid these novels but for people who actually want this style of writing. It's like trying to buy a mystery and finding out that you bought a horror book instead- to some people the difference might not matter, but to any avid follower of either genre, it matters a lot.

I have read every single book MaryLu Tyndall has written and she has done it again! Wow, what an adventure. She builds the suspense up until you about to burst. Then things explode. One thing I like about her books is that she is not shy about including the power of God in her characters' lives. A lot of Christian writers write books with just a word or two about God and I sometimes think they do this just to stay out of the general romance market. But Tyndall makes no bones about her beliefs and I applaud her mightily for it. This is the kind of book I want to read.
She writes so convincily that you can feel the sway of the ship and the mist of the sea fanning your face. I love her pirate stories, I truly do. Maybe she is a secret pirate herself. :) SEriously, her books are awesome and very well written and guaranteed to entertain and leave you thinking about them long after you have closed the book.
