Following the footsteps of Celine Dion,Tina Arena,Lara Fabian and Shakira comes the latest foreign superstar to come to America with a dance record. This is the first English language release for Italian superstar and sometime Spanish singing star Laura Pausini. The song "Surrender" follows closely the strategy of Lara Fabian in that she gets the royal remix treatment with no less than 7 remixes presented here. The mixes range from flat out house to trance to ambient. The first mix is by Mike Rizzo and his Global Club Mix(8:45) is the showcase mix here. It is underground yet mainstream in house. Very well done. Track 2-Ford's Club Mix(7:44) and track 3-Nick Fierce 's Polarbabies Club mix(8:04) are the best mixes and come in the Euro/Trance/House mixes. They suit the energy of the vocals best and the music is strictly for the European like DJ's . The Lenny Bertlodo Club Mix(8:34) is the most underground house mix here. The Eric Kupper Extended Mix(5:52) is like a lost Celine Dion mix in that it is only for the radios to play.The last track is the Mike Rizzo Global Dub mix(5:44). Hopefully this single will the first of many to come from Ms. Pausini.

By far one of the best tracks of 2003! Sweet lyrics, a great beat and some of the year's best remixes. A vocal house/dance pop MUST.

This is one of the catchiest singles I've heard in a LONG time. Lots of great clubs mixes on this cd from house to euphoric trance. The song is similar to Jessica Folker's "To Be Able to Love". Great dance anthem, can't wait to hear more club mixes from her.

"Surrender" was the first single off Laura Pausini's 2002 album, From The Inside. (For those who don't know, Laura Pausini is an Italian/Latin Pop Diva). Atlantic, the label, provided 7 different remixes for the packages; all are appreciated. Mike Rizzo (Deborah Cox, "Play Your Part"; Jewel, "Stand") took the track and created a dark, minor, underground house feeling for the song with his Global Club & Dub mixes. Ford's (Jewel, "Intuition"; Barry Harris feat. Pepper Mashay, "Dive In The Pool") mix follows his signature style: trance, but compliments the tune & Laura's voice very well. He offers (mostly) a major harmony to accompany her. Nick Fierce's (Sherrie Lea, "Anyway"; Britney Spears, "Everytime" [Hi-Bias Remix]) Polarbabies Club Mix is a unique, underground treatment: he creates a dark, minor feeling (similar to Mike Rizzo) for the verses, but in the chorus employs a major accompaniment (similar to Ford). The Frank Amoros chillout mix is well, a chillout mix; almost exactly fits the definition of chillout from the first few seconds. Lenny B (Jody Watley, "If I'm Not In Love"; Ace of Base, "Lucky Love") provides us with his usual underground style, positively bringing the track into the club. The accompaniment is major. The Eric Kupper (sometimes a collaborator/keyboardist with Peter Rauhofer/Club 69) (Rhona, "Satisfied"; Donna Summer, "Love Is The Healer) mix is a classic house mix, signature of Eric's style. The remixes are great, and there sure is variety. However, I do feel that the song itself could have been stronger. The track listing is:

Good job.

There are no words to describe those remixes. They are soft and nice. Modern rythms but they are no noisy as others rmxs. I advice to buy this cd if you love dance and / or modern music.
