For anyone who desires to learn more about the unconditional love of God and how that love can be experienced daily: Please, Please, Please read this book. Dr. Benner has presented the love of God in such a straight forward way. God's love for us is what truly makes transformation possible. Apart from Christ we can do nothing. His love opens various possibilities. I will say that anyone who truly wants to mine the treasures within this work must read it more than one time. I want to thank Dr. Benner for presenting such a wonderful book on God and His love for us.

Benner does it again. This book, along with "The Gift of Being Yourself," highlights what we most need to learn. Benner illustrates the Need to surrender and explains the connection between surrendering to love and the experience of genuine intimacy. Benner most aptly stated "There is nothing more important that learning love, because this is learning that counts for eternity.... Learning to love is therefore the core task of the human psychospiritual journey." This book facilitates such learning!

This book gave me a greater understanding of a real relationship with the Lord. It is especially good for those who feel they must have control over their lives, and who have a hard time emotionally if things seem out of control. It reinforces the love God has for us, and how to love him back.

Surrender to Love is a perfectly wonderful book. It is the single best introduction to a Christian Way of Living that I have ever encountered. The book makes it perfectly clear why we should turn to God. God is Absolute Unconditional Love that will steadfastly and without failure always love us with a Perfect Love that is always faithful and always present for us to fully embrace us, fully accept us, and fully uphold us, no what our immediate life situation or past or immeditate acts might be! God is the total fulfillment of the Perfect Always Faithful Love that we have all dreamed about and tried to imperfectly satisfy with imperfect human relationships, that sometimes give us the love we desire, but also often disappoint us. God is the only source of this Perfect Love. All we are being asked to do is to fully trust this Perfect Love and surrender our will to this Perfect Love. Surrender To Love is so wonderful that I am purchasing it for both of my children. Surrender To Love has my very highest positive recommendation.

This is by far one of the most powerful looks I have ever read. It should be on every Christian's shelf to pick up over and over again, particularly when you are feeling distant from God, or uncertain about your place in His heart. This is also a wonderful book to give to someone who is struggling with their place in this world, to reassure them in profound ways, of God's incredible love for them.

This book was a required textbook for two college classes at Talbot. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and would recommend it to anyway seeking the deeper life with Christ.

This book saved me from so much pain. It re-awakened me to the God who loves me like a father. While the words were easy to read I had to take the time to let them sink in because what he was writing about is so powerful. I would recommend this book to anyone who needs their heart re-awakened to the Father who loves them perfectly.

Good presentation of the true heart of God. Good especially for anyone who has difficulty believing how deeply God really loves you.

This book starts out with a wonderful premise, that of God's unconditional love. But it fails to develop as it repeats the same premise over and over and over. The author never goes beyond this concept...except to tell us what not to do. The book leaves me wondering how to accomplish this surrender, other than to do nothing, which is what the author advocates. I think the book may speak more to those who have been significantly wounded by people who should have been examples of love, as those are all the examples the author uses. So if you have not been significantly wounded, you may, like I, wonder why it takes him 100 pages to get the idea across that God's love is unending, unconditional, and freely given to all, and we should live that love as children of God.
