Strong single, but not quite as good as previous efforts,
By Scott Tsukamoto "TsukDude" (Henderson, NV USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Surrender (Audio CD)
This Aussie release of Lasgo's first single from their new album features 8 mixes... 6 old and 2 new. The CD Maxi starts out with the "Radio Edit" (3:07) which is a shorter version of the original "Extended" (5:34). The original features a somewhat different Lasgo sound and an occasional "GO!" for good measure. Then there's the "Skitz Radio Edit" (3:52), this is actually a really good mix! the mix has a more progressive trance vibe than the original. The radio edit is the short version of the "Skitz Clubb Remixx" (7:26), (the Skitz mixes are the best in my opinion). The next mix is the "Pulsedriver's Vox Remix" (6:54), which is the usual eurotrance affair. Then there's the "Peter Luts Remix" (8:46), this mix has a much darker trance feel than most of the other mixes. Following that there's the "Cor Fijneman Remix" (6:58), this mix is somewhat more upbeat than most of the other mixes, it's similar to the Skitz mixes. Then there's the "McCullen Vs Moldenhauer Remix" (7:40), this mix is noticeably different it is more percussion heavy than what is usually found in trance. Overall, this is a pretty good version of the single to pick up. It features seven standard mixes plus two from Aussies own Nick Skitz (the radio edit being exclusive to the Aussie release). Otherwise the best versions to pick up would be the UK Version and the Danish version (for a grand total of 14 mixes between the two countries). But I'd recommend this single, Lasgo is one of the best in commercial dance/trance music. |
