I live in Murrieta/Temecula California with relative humidity levels ranging from 20-40% during the afternoons. I had my doubts about air coolers. I purchased this one after reviewing many models and finally choose this one due to its three sided cooling pads. This air cooler is awesome. I was very impressed with it's cooling capacity. I put the unit right infront of my window in my room. At 3pm, the air outside was 102°F with the relative humidity at 20%. The air blowing out of the unit was a cool 78°F with the relative humidity at 85%. That's an impressive 24°F drop in air temperature. Adding ice didn't make a temperature difference at all. It can be noise on high, but sleepable in low. It has oscillating louvers as well and cools up to 150+ sq.ft. I have two of this units in my 800 square feet apartment. I love the 4.5 gallon capacity tank. It can go up to 12 hours in a single full refill. My whole apartment was a relatively cool 85°F while it was baking outside at 102°F. I'm extremely satisfied with this product.

I purchased this machine about a month ago. I have a 1930 house and there is no A/C other than the window shakers that came with the house. I have found that this air cooler works very well but it is very loud on its lowest setting, but it works great. I fill it up in the morning before I go to work and it is half way empty when I get home when it is on its lowest setting. It is great for a large room like a living room. I will be putting similar machines in each of my guest bedrooms since they use so little energy, only .8 amps!!
