As I read this book, I thought that it was just another biography of someone. Throughout the book, the author talks about who and what situations influenced him at a given time. Lots of great stores and in context, very inspirational. I was about 3/4 of the way through the book when it occured to me what the book was about. It was not about the stories, it was about the good people who he has rubbed shoulders with, but more, it was about seeing good in people. Trying to fine the good in people. Too many times and and in too many books and movies we are shown the bad in people. here is a book that looks at just the opposite. The last line in the book I think sums up the message of the book. Very well done.

Great read-very inspirational. Chad Lewis shares some great examples of being surrounded by greatness which has inspired me to work hard to do the same. I wish every teenage boy could read this book, but it is not just for teenagers. I am a better person for reading it.

A good book for those who want to make something of their life and also if you have an interest in how the game of football is played.

Chad starts out by telling of his experience when his father had to have emergency brain surgery. He goes on to tell other experiences from his childhood and youth, about his growing up, his football career, and his marriage and children. He talks a lot about other people he meets and how they were a positive influence on him.
His attitude is very optimistic and uplifting, which shows in every word he writes. He found good traits in just about everybody he came in contact with. He is confident and cheerful. The whole book illustrates the theme inherent in the title, SURROUND YOURSELF WITH GREATNESS.
There is a lot of football in nearly every chapter. It is a great read for every age, especially people interested in learning more about football as well as how to be successful in life. I'm a female, and I enjoyed the book because he also talks about other things a person meets in life, though I read pretty fast through some of the football stuff, just to get past it.

Definitely one of the best auto-biographies out there. Chad does such a great job at providing inspiration and entertainment, laughs and sadness, and all of the above. As a BYU fan, I can say that Chad Lewis has been an influence in my life, and his book has made me realize to really Surround Myself With Greatness. Great job by Chad Lewis.

After hearing Chad Lewis speak at a conference, my husband wanted this book. I got for him for Christmas, and he read it in 2 days and loved it. He couldn't put it down. He said it was very inspirational.

This is an inspired book. A story that we all need to hear. Chad is a remarkable person. The story he tells, will teach you how to travel through this dark world on a path that will lead to greatness. I loved the book and hope my teenagers will read it. Read this book! Buy it for Christmas gifts. We need this message to be communicated everyday of our lives. Thank you Chad, I am a better man now that I have read your amazing story. I highly recommend this book, especially for your children.

Once you pick up "Surrounding Yourself With Greatness" it's hard to put it down. The book captures your attention as it walks the reader through the life of a walk-on college football player to a 3-time NFL pro-bowler. The stories and insights into the hard work and principles necessary for success not only in the NFL but in life are inspiring and motivational. The inside stories about NFL training camp and dining with the president in the White House are a great read. I highly recommend this book. It's great for people of any age looking for good, solid principles for success in life.
