System was easy to install and setup. Either that or I got lucky. After I setup and wired the whole system, I tried to use the owner's manual to setup the Internet connection. I even bought an additional modem just for this system. The problem started when nothing I did would work. I had to Google thoroughly to find a phone number for the company. I left a kind message for a return call. With no call back, I left another call. I repeated this process with them every day for the past 3 weeks. They are yet to return my call. The service is not good. I am now going to have to hire someone to help me finish the setup. So beware of the bad service and be prepared to spend more money out of pocket to finish the setup. Hindsight being 20/20 - I wish I had bought from someone else. Since I have spent hours installing the system, it is too late to return it. Don't make the same mistake I made!

After much research through various web based stores I realized this 8 channel 1TB (1000 gig)HDD (hard disk drive) DVR (Digital Video Recorder),6 color IR Cameras with mounts, and wires (siamese power and video) were the best combination offered at a low price. To break down the system piece by piece here is the review and benefit. The DVR - 1 TB hard disk, New H.264 format, records in every combination you can imagine, supports each camera channel independantly or as ALL, Controls are very easy, Adjustments are very easy, seperate audio inputs, seperate alarm inputs (for motion sensors), easy front loading usb port (for easy back up), came with a remote and a mouse (also front loading usb port) plenty of options for the video and audio output, I ran my system with a VGA cable also purchased through Amazon, simply power it up, plug the cameras in, adjust the date and time, adjust each camera, set the recording, and your done. The system does everything else, It works very well. The Cameras - Good quality cameras, the resolution of the 420 TVL is just that, the IR features work good although you are limited to distance. The Cables - Plenty long enough for my house, they are thin and the BNC connectors make a solid connection. All in all the system is great front to back. I haven't hooked the ethernet connection up yet to test the remote view but will update the review when I get it hooked up.

The Dowson 8 Channel DVR w/color/IR cams is a great setup. Setup and configurations was easy. Once setup properly, the cams/dvr display good quality video.

I would most certainly by more products from the Dowson Vender.
