During the 1910s, a man proposes to a worker as a farmer. It remains in a hamlet in Quebec (or at Monk's Inlet near Sorel), where traditions are deeply rooted among the inhabitants make a living by caring for their land and go to the offices of the church. This man of mysterious origin, called "Stranger" or "Coming" is a great storyteller who has traveled extensively and has a physical advantage.
The farmer takes a paternal affection for the working man of many talents, while several others envy what it is. The Stranger finds love in the person of Angelina, a woman who declined to more than one suitor, and it had the same feelings. After some tests, the Outlander will be accepted by the inhabitants, but the condition of the farmer's love Angelina and acceptance of people will they measure up to his desire to travel?
