This review is from: Survival Greenhouse (Paperback)
The original book was published in 1975. I have the 2nd edition published in 1978. No idea what the differences are (if any). This book was written by the head of a small family with an acre of land in northern New Mexico, who was experimenting to see if they could "live off the land" with a small 22' x 11' sunken greenhouse. This was (of necessity) very much a low budget do-it-yourself project all the way. They attempted to create a self-contained balanced eco-system as much as possible. Inside the greenhouse they grew rabbits (for food) and hydroponic vegetables, with a fair amount of success. A large portion of the greenhouse was dedicated to a large water tank in which they attempted to grow fish (for food), apparently with little or no success, so do not buy this book if you want to learn how to become a fish farmer. Some details about home built wind power generators are included in a large appendix in the back. An interesting look back into the "living off the earth" culture of the 1970's, inspirational in many ways, worth a few dollars if you can find a good used copy.
