Book Description

January 5, 2006
Civilization will not survive if we ignore The Survival Hot List and fail to conquer The Seven Deadly Trends in timely fashion.

The Survival Hot List is formatted in a Socratic framework, teaching through exposure to fifteen vital questions that proceed through three brief chapters. The author’s answers to these questions derive from the thought of scientists, historians, and statesmen who have advocated world law.

The appendices provide the reader with a rare opportunity to study The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, The Charter of the United Nations, and The Statute of the International Court of Justice.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must-Read!, March 17, 2006

This review is from: The Survival Hot List: Conquering the Seven Deadly Trends (Paperback)
Dr. Bagnall's approach to global affairs is refreshing, rejecting narrow-minded "crisis to crisis improvisation," and focusing instead on seven long-term "deadly trends," which must be resolved in order to ensure human survival. Bagnall identifies these seven deadly trends as 1) the thermonuclear threat to all life on earth, 2) destruction of rain forests, 3) global warming, 4) ozone depletion, 5) acid rain, 6) population explosion, and 7) all forms of military aggression.

Bagnall's scope is ambitious, but his book effectively and authoritatively illustrates how the pursuit of world law through a strengthened United Nations is in fact a comprehensive and viable solution to the problems posed by the seven deadly trends.

Borrowing from the words of statesmen, scientists, and historians who have advocated world law, Bagnall's book is compelling, well-written, and important. It is a must-read for anyone concerned about the survival of life on the planet.
