Product Description

The USDA recommendation for an average adult is a minimum of 50 grams of protein per day.
Without sufficient protein the body will consume muscle to meet protein needs.

Many plants are very low in protein and require huge consumption to meet 50g. However beans, peas and broccoli are high in protein which allow you to meet 50g easily, and should be the focus of your preparations.

In order to get 50g daily protein from each food source you would have to eat...
70 carrots or
49 peppers or
73 radishes or
------here's where it gets interesting------
1.2 cups of black beans!
or 6 cups of peas!
or 3 bunches of broccoli!
(Source: USDA food database)

Why not hunt meat for protein in a survival scenario?... Because the other 44+ million gun owners in America will most likely have the same plan.

I had about a 75% germination rate and had a few failures once germinated. They are an interesting variety of mostly bean seeds but they are an excellent selection of them. My germination rate may have been because I had left the beans in a cup of water too long and may have caused a fungal issue. I will definitely add peroxide to the next batch before germinating. But I have happily started a small group of them to test them out. I will try to write another review once they produce some beans. I still will probably buy a second package and keep them sealed and frozen until I use up all of the 1st then order another as a new stock. I am a big believer you should know how to grow these seeds we are saving and know what to expect with them.

NEW NOTE:

DO NOT BUY THRU AMAZON, they will allow some scam retailers to bait and switch you and the " a-z guarantee" is no guarantee it's just a marketing scheme so you feel safe but once's your scammed they just keep the money. They do not care about anything but your money try a small business who cares. I was a long time purchaser thru amazon but I got ripped off. I should have never fell for the big business scam.

While the promised seeds are nicely packaged and included, there's no information about the types of seeds, nutritional information, best growing conditions or anything else. Additionally, the information on the package itself is truncated and incomplete. I can't say I would purchase more of these to include in BoBs or food storage, but they wouldn't be my first choice. Without even basic identifying information, it'd be hard to much of anything but throw 'em in the dirt and hope for the best.

The package give the shelf life of 10 years if kept frozen. I had to thaw out my freezer for a move and I decided to grow them at our next location. They grew great and tasted the same. My only issue was the lack of variety in the package and the stuff almost seemed like they got it from the store and made smaller packages and sold it. However isn't that one way of doing things so I don't have to spend a lot of money and have a lot of product left over.

Not only was the item exactly as described, it was delivered a day ahead of what I planned on and when I planted the seeds, they sprouted quickly and the seedlings look great! Very pleased here in Michigan.

Simply put a waste of money. First off let me begin with the fact that I have had experience with growing vegetables from elaborate hydroponic and aquaponic systems to simply sowing in the soil. The seeds on average had roughly at 10% to 20% germination rate. So instead of having to thin plants you are having to sow more seeds that will be behind the other. That is if you have enough seed left over from the small amount supplied.

Further the growing guide is worthless. It contains maybe a sentence for each plant.
